Drinking

I'm small so alcohol hits me. Have been sick, plenty but I am stupid and mix my drinks.

A lot of alcoholic drinks have much more calories than you would think... That's why I only drink vodka these days!

Exactly. And I stay away from drinks (cosmopolitans have a TON of calories, as do White Russians, etc.). I have my light beer (still ack, but eh), and carry my vodka in my flask.

Yeah, I read somewhere that one White Russian contains 450 kcal...

Whoa thats crazy, thats how many calories people have in like a day or two... But does anyone know how many carbs are in wine and vodka and beer? I dont really get the calories, i know my limits in carbs more. Thanks for the info!

Wo that's crazy especially considering all I can drink in one night.

Few years ago I loved to go dancing and getting drunk, that was part of the fun. Until one day we all ended up sick and having to shower each other with cold water to try and woke us up. Plus the smoking...
Now I don't do it anymore and I notice the change a lot. Especially in my skin.

just drank the first time a few weeks ago. The night is a blur, but I think I can definitely hold my alcohol because I probably drank the equivalent of 1/4 bottle of water of straight vodka. I hate having to chase it though yuuuuck. water is the worst chaser ever!!!

I've never had alcohol-not only am I 18 which is way too young, since it's 21, but I've grown up with it in the house all my life since my dad does wine sales. Just smelling it and having my mom put in a lot when making some pasta dishes (the alcohol had burnt off but still) makes me barely able to tolerate the communion wine at church. So no alcohol for me.

Drinking? Just dont do it, just dont start. I have never seen the point. The way the English drink is horrible. At university, perfectly intelligent people start acting like total total ******* or depressive weirdos and I dont understand why they would want to be like that. I would sooner take hard drugs because there is an experience, and it is a one off. Drinking becomes a mindless everyday thing. So incredibly common. The only time I have drunk is when I mistook a bucks fizz for an orange juice at my friends bat-mitzvah once, years ago

When it come to party I always drink a lot and I've been doing it for years; sometimes I exagerated and puked but usually I control myself. The fun thing I noticed is that everyone is saying that alcohol males you fatter but when I have my "party weeks" I always end up being skinnier, even the morning after a party. it seems that alcohol burns my kcals

Personally the drinking age of 21 in the U.S. has always baffled me. I mean, at 18 you're old enough to be sent off to die in Iraq and Afghanistan, but not old enough to have a glass of wine? It's completely ridiculous. My father thinks it's nuts too.

I remember when I first started drinking, I could barely function the day after! It was awful and I'm glad I finally wised up and can drink without having to deal with a massive hangover the next day. It only takes 3 beers to get me drunk (I know, I'm a lightweight!), so after that I either stop or slow down considerably. I make sure to drink a big glass of water before bed, and a couple glasses right when I wake up. That usually takes care of any hangover symptoms that I have.

Oh, and it also helps to sober up a little before going to sleep! My worst hangovers always occur when I fall asleep really drunk.

well.. i don't really care about the calories when i drink, but i what i do care is the pizza that i eat before i go home from bar..
i'm a drinker. last fall i drank like every weekend, now i've been drinking perhaps every second. finns drink to get drunk, that's a sad fact. now a days i can handle my drinking, i know where is my limit. i think that's a important think to learn if one drinks regurarly. generally in my opinion, drinking is your own choice. try or don't try, you won't lose anything :P

I drink every weekend... and I feel good. I never had a hungover

Being under 21 and living in the U.S., I'm legally not allowed to drink, but I have taken sips from my parents' glasses and I HATE alcohol. Hell, I even have a hard time downing grape juice, how am I going to drink beer?

Like most said, now that i´m older i sometimes get hungovers that before simply didn´t happen (and it´s not because i can´t sleep all morning! I never drink during the week).

One thing that i don´t do now is to mix, and i mostly only drink beer and wine, although beer is still lighter in alcohol than red wine for instance, so i prefer it.
Another thing i´ve learned is when i´ve had too much and also never to go to sleep drunk, or sometimes even home (because of the cab journey).
If i go home i rather stay up and go and watch some tv or something than to lie down all dizzy! :D

i quit drinking (heavily) after a really bad party experience. i think i have more fun now b/c i don't have to worry about being hungover the next morning. i will have a few beers every now and then though.

I was the same way! I was like, I hate alcohol. Until I had an Apple Martini my face was like this , it's so yummy. A Mango Martini is  x 10, so delish.

Beer is really disgusting, it's such a frat drink, IMO.

Ive never been hungover, and Ive been drunk into a stupor, the last time I was drunk was off two Apple Martinis, and a Red Bull & Vodka...Im a lightweight...

i need to taste apple martini next time i go to bar.. simply have to, don't care about the calories
but i was just thinking.. is vodka mixed with diet coke a 'low-calorie' drink? if it is, it's going to be my own drink to get drunk -drink:lol:

Sometimes it's easier to socialise with a drink in hand :ninja:
