Edie Sedgwick #1

I do believe that if Lou Reed ran into Sienna with her newly acquired, carefully calibrated Edie-wear, he'd either spit or stomp on her. Poor sweet Edie must be turning in her grave.

I don't think she'd be turning in her grave. Yeah, she'd probably role her eyes at the poseurs embodiying the warhol gang, and attempting to recapture their style and scene, but all for a good laugh.
Mostly she'd be ecstatic with all the attention given to her. That's all she really craved or desired- an audience- and here she is in all the magazines, etc. spoken of as a fashion icon, a superstar, and a presence all over again. A movie about her- she would have loved it, though only from the grave

my opinion

^I'm sure she would be glad about the attention, but not the movie. Who would want a movie made about yourself that made you look like a pathetic drug addicted faliure. I wish they would eaither make a movie only about her life, or one just inspired by her but not use her name or anything. This movie is inbetween and it just doesn't work! And the fact that they're revolving the whole movie around a relationship that isn't even proven to be true? It's ridiculous!

...sorry for the rant...

er....actually, Edie made a movie about herself where she DID look like a pathetic drug addicted failure....

I just read an interview with Lou Reed and I get the impression that he's never approved of anything or anyone...Very heavy, negative guy...

^Oh c'mon. If you like Edie, as a part of the Warhol scene and as a legend, you won't like Factory Girl. It's to make money, and all the things I've heard the director say are dumb.Besides, most of the things the music/movie indrusty is producing these days is crap, so I do understand Lou Reed, I really do.

Plus, nobody ever made Edie to take drugs. There may have been things that drove her to it, but in the end it was her own choice.I think the best way to tell her story wouldn't portray her as a pathetic junkie/crazy woman nor a heroine.

You've just earned yourself some karma!
I don't object to a movie being made but at least they could do things right ! For the moment it looks like they're making a teen flick. And I'd be pissed too if I was Lou Reed. Who in their right mind would cast Weezer to play the Velvet Underground ?

Factory Girl is very Warhol in the way he though of fame and money.

Really, how does anyone know that the director is doing this for money? Of course it's the easy thing for Edie-fans and Sienna-haters everywhere to announce, but you don't know that for sure. Maybe he thought it sounded like an interesting idea and a neat project. If I were a director, I'd totally be interested in a piece like this. Just don't go see the movie if you don't want. Let people who don't know the true story think what they want. ;)

But if it's just an IDEA then he shouldn't be using real names and making it look just like it did then. I agree that a movie with the idea of Edie would be good, or a movie all about Edie's life. But not one that's the idea of Edie and some real facts and a lot of wrong ones.

The idea of that movie was not Edie's
She was acting, not making herself out to be that way, even though she was like that at the time, it's not like that reflects who Edie was...She wasn't just a pathetic drug addicted faliure.

I see. I meant the actual events, too...but usually things are changed in movies... and it sucks :(. Hope most of this comes out right, and like most of you..I have doubts. Just don't think there should be full-on bashing when it hasn't come out yet B)

And I think she looks gorgeous without the eye makeup...IMO, she was a natural beauty.

Edie did have fantastic legs. Prehaps from genes/not eating/ doing jazz and ballet dancing twice a day? She said that was the reason for her wearing tights all the time, she was dancing so much that she didn't bother to take them off.

Thanks for the picture Babydoll1125, I think she looks absolutely gorgeous there.:flower:

She looks beautiful, even without make up! I'd like to see you without make up on:angry:

^ thanks for the picture! i'd never seen her without makeup. i think she looks more vulnerable and young; still beautiful but in a more fragile way...

maybe the makeup was her mask? maybe it expressed the side of her she wanted to show, while hiding the rest? just my thoughts...
