I just watched Ciao! Manhattan.

I think I loved it! Edie is nothing like how Susan acts, is she? She's out of it, drugged out, a little slow.

I think she was at least a bit. I know, according to Edie: American Girl, she got to a point where drugs messed her up so much that she could barely speak. I think she may have been exaggerating, but it wasn't all an act.

^ thanks you for your input. Edie was quite slow when speaking or even acting out basic functions like putting her clothing on or drinking from a bottle. How sad.

It must have been a significant amount of abuse. She reminded me of when you try to talk to a person who has just gotten up and you ask her to do something.

Can someone tell me about the guy who narrates, her "mother" and her mother's "servant"? Who are they really in relation to Edie? I read the characters play themselves, so does that mean she really lived in a tent in an empty pool?

The movie is fiction but there are parts based on truth. Obviously the Warhol parts are true and her and Paul America hanging out and doing drugs is true. But her living in the swimming pool, the aliens, the mom making pies is all fiction. Do you have a way of seeing the special features that are on the dvd? The director explains a lot about how it was made.
