European Fashion Schools

Anyone has information and/or comments about the Summer school of one month at ESMOD in PARIS? I have no formation in Fashion at all.. But I would like to try something before thinking of starting a 3yrs program.
Thanks a lot!

i've spent a few days clicking through this place and gosh, this education forum is awesomely helpful :flower:
after reading so much, i'm seriously considering Polimoda and Istituto Marangoni. i'm a fashion management undergrad and is planning to exit my current course with a diploma and pursue a degree in the same field in Europe. from the info that i've sourced, Italian fashion schools seem to focus alot on the business side of fashion, hopefully that's the place where i should be. thanks everyone for providing all the info

i'm thinking of applying to the national college of art and design in ireland, but i really don't know anything about this school.. so is it any good? i was planning to get my bachelor degree in fashion there and then proceeding with masters degree somewhere else (nyc or london).

is their fashion program any good? how are the teachers and the actual teaching?

How about Sweden and Germany?

Thanks!

in germany there are AMD (akademie fuer mode und design) with four different locations (munich, berlin, dusseldorf and hamburg)
and also ESMOD in berlin and munich!
but in your case i would prefer AMD cause i heard sooo many bad things about ESMOD ..
good luck:flower:

yep id prefer AMD too... esmod has a pretty bad reputation i guess...i actually planned to attend AMD too and im so so so so regretting not having done my BA in fashion management... but im going to appy for the master programmes of the IED and the marangoni insitute in milan <3 and of course good luck to all of you guys!!

Hmm, how about Austria? Does anyone know about good opportunities/colleges/schools in Austria? Is/Are there some to recommend?

Thanks for replying!

in Milan there is Accademia del lusso.

if you want to be designer of clothes, there is Politecnico di Bovisa - Moda

Thankyou all for your replies, the schools I seem to have narrowed it down to are polimoda, IED, accademia italiana and Instituto marangoni. Does anyone have any reps about these schools they could offer?

I am interested in how the school assisted in work placement after completion of the course also as this is very important to me.

And also for current students in foreign countries, do you find that you are able to work to earn an income while you are studying? Is there enough time in your weeks?

Thanks again!
I'm italian, and I recommend you Istituto Marangoni and IED

Hi there venjeans!!

I ve just graduated from IED Milano in 3 years fashion & textile design...i guess i can help you... eventhough i dont want to start by saying negative things but unfortunately i need to say i m extremely dissapointed with IED! of course in each school everything you learn depends on you but here in IED Milano everything is a mess seriously! It lacks professionality in every aspect and it doesn't really give you a scope that a school in Italy should give you! Actually i was unhappy from my first year but i kept saying maybe it was me but then each year i saw my classmates were leaving one by one and the ones that did continue were unhappy like me! i sincerely dont know anyone from either my class or from other classes that was satisfied with the school! Again maybe i didn't get to know the right people but still even the mess with the organisation of the school is enough to give you a headache everyday trust me!!!!
