F/W 06.07 Ad Campaigns

Yes, I'm glad Angela and Carolyn are there too! I love the work Christy did in the past, but the campaigns she's been in lately have been huge disappointments. Hopefully she'll be better in this one.

Daria for Versace

Versace is using models again :woot: This is so exciting :D

just a quick poll...

how many of you guys are intersted by Versace and what do you like?

just to know... :innocent:

I have never understood Versace, as a fashion house. I have never understood the clothes and accessories they make. I don't see the appeal of it, not even Gianni's work, which many think is genious. You gotta remember to die the right time.

Some of their campaigns, however, during the 90s were absolutely gorgeous, there are campaigns I can say I whole-heartedly love.

Ouch

Sorry, I just remembered that my mom was actually friends with one of the victims Andrew Cunanan shot in Chicago before he went down to Miami and killed Gianni...

Regarding the Versace campaign - it'll be an interesting transition from the only-female-celebrity ads from the past few seasons...I'm just wondering how the layout of the group shots will look.

Sorry, I didn't mean it like that :flower: I just meant that a tragedy like that makes people to be regarded as something higher than they actually are. Sorry again, I sometimes don't think at all what I say :flower:

i start to feel like those supermodels' lives are truly glamorous, needlessly to mention kate moss, when you take a look at carolyn murphy, stella tennant and naomi campbell and gisele bundchen, all of them don;t have to do any runway works yet can get a lot of big-name campaigns, whereas hot newbies like freja, hilary rhoda will get only one small campaign respectively, supermodels have dominate this season's campaigns......

Versace had some of the most renowned high profile campaigns from 1980 till his death. Shot by Avedon, mostly. I think they're considered to be some of the best ads ever made, due to the clothes and the remarkable photography.;)

I agree with you for the fantastic campaigns, Iluvjeisa

But... what do you think of the clothes today?

Loveed the idea of Versace liked look together a Kate, Angela, Carolyn, Christy and Daria more by Testino:woot:

Versace has been pretty bad since Donatella took over...but drug rehab did wonders on her, and I thought that her f/w 06 collection was one of the best this season. It was streamlined and elegant, less flash, more function, but still retaining the Versace glamour. Now with casting models for her campaign, I think Donatella is ready to bring the real Versace back!

God I am so excited for the fall campaigns!!! Daria in Chanel/Versace/LV/Cavalli/Lancome is heaven for me.

^^ I also agree with you. I think Daria really achieved the supermodel status with the high profile campaigns she is doing this season:clap:. I can't stand Kate Moss for having so many campaigns though.:doh:

BTW I forgot to mention but I have a source who says Cavalli is Daria Werbowy only girl campaign (No Du Juan). I don't know what to believe, but I'm curious.

I also didn't know Caroline Trentini is doing Dior accessories. :flower: :D

Why do my damn people...

Segue: Too late on the topic, but I'm really gonna look forward for the Versace ads. It's probably gonna be those "different generations of models" kind of shoot that they used to do from the 90's, early 00's. And wait...DARIA!:woot: :flower:

Btw if Daria gets Armani sometime, she would have gotten the campagins for all of the big Italian/Milanese houses.:woot:

I don't know what you consider big, but I don't remember Daria in Valentino or Fendi ad campaigns.
