So I was planning to write some ridiculously long reviews, but while going through the collections again, I realized that they just aren't worth it this season.
Even coming up with a top ten was difficult:
Alexander McQueen - for not only acknowledging the economy, but using it as a theme.
Christopher Kane - for all his pretty, commercial party dresses.
Comme des Garçons - for almost everything--layered jackets, tulle and the prints.
Givenchy - for showing some new ideas, even though they were all over the place.
Jil Sander - for the second half of the collection. Raf's shapes are getting sexier each season.
Miu Miu - for the fur and the patterns and the general Fall '06-ishness.
Nina Ricci - for daring to be fierce in the most un-Nina Ricci way possible.
Prada - for making the most controversial waders in the history of fishing accessories.
Rodarte - for adding some much-needed glamour to the least entertaining of cities.
Yves Saint Laurent - for a collection I don't like now, but know I'll love three months from now.
