F/W 09.10 recap: thoughts and your top 10 Collections

In order of importance:

1°.Nina Ricci - Everything was so wonderful at Nina Ricci's show! I really love the collection, everything about the gotic atmosphere and at the same time, the glamour!
1°.Balmain - I think I wouldn't need to say my reasons to love Balmain more and more, even if the collection was more of the same, "a" same, that's fantastic!
1°.Yves Saint Laurent - It's so elegant and cool at the time, I loved the whole collection!
2°.Givenchy - It's not my favourite one from Tisci, but I love it even so (since it's my favourite label and where I'd like to work one day as a future fashion designer).
2°.Miu Miu - I don't like some of the looks, but analysing the whole set, I think that's fantastic, all about the concept that Miuccia had been inspired to create this.
2°.Louis Vuitton - That's so funny, so new!! so 80's!! I love it more than the personal collection of MJ, because at Louis Vuitton that's so much more glam and chic, what I LOVE a lot!
3°.Dolce & Gabbana - The same sense that I had about Louis Vuitton, everything is just glam! stunning...love it!
3°.Missoni - Totally Unexpected!!! that's why I like it so much and it's new too, a purpose very different for next winter.
4°.Bottega Veneta - It's exactly what I always love about BV.
4°.Prada - We always expect something very unexpected from Miuccia Prada. this time isn't different but even if she'd showed classic "Prada" things, we saw different ones too.

^^

In no particular order:
Lanvin - very retro and feminine. Love it!
John Galliano - the theme was fantastic and the detailing was breath-taking.
Miu Miu - Miuccia surprised me because I'd been expecting a lot of leather.
Givenchy - angelic.
Chanel - I love Karl. The collection was tres chic.
Balenciaga - The draping, the satin pants. Perfection.
Louis Vuitton - Well, yesterday I hated it, now I love it.
Balmain - I just love this all disco/rock chic look.
Rodarte -
YSL - very masculine, very Parisian and very YSL.

I really hate the whole 80´s thing, there were lot of awful and disappointing collections (Marc Jacobs, Balenciaga, Nina Ricci), but luckily we´ve got Lanvin, Givenchy, McQueen and John Galliano to save the season ^_^

What a let down this season was. Usually I have some really vivid stand out images from every season, but everything just merges into one another. Nearly every other collection in NY looked like Balmain. I guess the designers have to play it safe in this climate, there didn't seem to be much creativity.
I find it hard to remember 10 stand out collections tbh.

Rodarte
Y3
Jeremy Laing
Rad Hourani
Christopher Kane
Burberry Prorsum (solely cuz of the thorny chain watches)
Haider Ackermann
John Galliano
Alexander McQueen
Lanvin

Paris for inspiration at least.
This was a watershed for all out repetitive retro however.
Please stop the 80's revivals already. It will be coming up for 2010 when these overzealous pieces will be on the sales racks at the end of the year!
