GOTHIC GIDGET: Riccardo Tisci headed to the beach for Givenchy’s spring-summer ad campaign. But trust the Gothic designer to bring a dark twist to the proceedings: Gisele Bündchen, Mariacarla Boscono, Chris Moore and Simone Nobili are shown posing with black surfboards against darkening skies. The designer described the atmosphere as “the expression of a love story between a surfer and a mermaid.” Lensed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, with hair by Luigi Murenu, makeup by Lucia Pieroni and layout by M/M, the campaign will break in February issues of Vogue, W and other magazines.

i just dont get the concept. u go to the beach in those kind of clothes? and giselle looks so tired and washed out

Interesting concept but it seems quite pretentious to me; the set design and the props are bordering on ludicrous. I didn't envision this kind of aesthetic when I saw the collections. Is it just me, or is this slightly disappointing?

I'm not quite seeing the cohesion between the clothes & the setting . For some reason I was expecting this campaign to be black & white, but I guess not.

Oh.... that's it? I was expecting to be wowed. Great photography, setting and props, but it's rather lifeless.

And get rid of the damn dog already.

Gisele is not Givenchy, that is all. Looking forward to the rest of the set.

It's almost a bit of a mindf*ck, trying to figure out why there are hot guys in suits and a hot woman in high heels at the beach (with a scary dog, ugh), surfboards ready in the pick up truck but no other surf equipment... It's very weird and has nothing to do with the collection, it seems. Still it's such a striking image, I love the dark beach scenery and the whole mood of it. Personally I love the image itself and can't wait to see the rest of the campaign.

It's totally wrong, sorry for that saying, looks like a SUV compaign or something like that. Those two boys are both ridiculously insane with white ribbon whistles or what accessories, as surfers or ski kids fleeing from locker room and rush to date their dressed-up English teacher at the gloomy beach. What the f********** are you doing Tisci??? The conception sucks definitely, and the dog?? Absolutely pointless, hope MCB will save the rest.

a funeral/beach party? Chris Moore is beautiful though, but I don't really see model in him or the other boy; just two pretty boys. Great for him though

So boring!! no undestand the concept, & Gisele look sad

i like the mood of the ad but their expressions are not so good

Looks like I'm the only one who liked it, but I really did.

There's something missing (life and logic)...
The 1st photo looks better in black and white, in my opinion.

This is more silly than interesting. Also, sandals and suits are DISGUSTING. No one, and I mean NO ONE, will ever make that look good. Not even Tisci.
Maybe if the setting had been a forest (like Lanvin Fall 08) or a cemetery or something, then it would have been a lot better I think.

But this image is definitely attractive, it makes me wanna buy Givenchy stuff.

interesting, but I cannot catch the idea of gothic Gidget and mermaid...

maybe the stereotypes of Gidget and mermaid confine me... I think it's a little bit confusing...

and those two male models outshined Gisele here...

They're the Miami mafia! they shoot people and their dog eats them!.:P

Seriously, it's something along these lines for me, they look like they could be good protectors, or just people you'd rather be friends with.

I love this, always happy to see a Gisele overload in my summer issues.

I was hoping they'd go the more upbeat/summery route. Nonetheless, this is pretty bada**. Gisele, just posing there nonchalantly while looking pretty fierce.

Couldn't agree more. Eventhough the concept isn't exactly easy to grasp and doesn't quite make sense I love the image itself and I desire the clothes and accessories shown which is the point of the thing. I personally like to think that she is an evil mermaid with her scary dog friend-protector trying to lure two seamen to come with her B).
