Gucci F/W 10.11 : Raquel Zimmermann and Nikola Jovanovic by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggot

i like Raquel for Gucci but this is just getting too repetitive inspite of the change of
scenery. im seriously doubting whether presenting their pieces using only one model
works since the best i've seen from Gucci are all MG, especially FW09 and the past
ones with Lily D. you can only do so much with the orgasm face and poses. shame
since Raquel is such a talented model, she can do so much better than echo last
season's shots.

I totally like the third picture, and I would really like the first two pictures except for the clothes (I don't think that they were the right clothes for the setting and the poses) and to a certain extent Raquel's face / facial expressions.

omg i feel like such an idiot lol i thought the chair was mirrored reflecting the sun or something but now i can see that it's gold (reflective or clear?) hm..

I agree, had this even just been MG with Joan Smalls, instead of just Pre-fall, both with these strong poses, these could have been soo much more amazing! And even though I love Raquel and Im not really a fan, I might be missing Natasha abit here.

And the location is good, but needed more to translate fall better, like had it been a darker, cooler desert, after dusk. Seems too hot and summery. And too much bad photoshop.^_^

well i don't even need to mention how ridiculous Nikola is, because this men coleection is disaster. Raquel is nice... great body

why do they keep using those block chairs? first lucite now coated metal. over it.

That's what I'm wondering - geometric furniture in front of a natural landscape seems to be turning into the Gucci formula. But when you have great models and a stunning setting, does using this type of prop add anything?

The color in these are so amped it's insane. Are the skies really that turquoise in Morrocco?

^ I can't say for sure since I've never been, but considering that every sky M&M photographs seems to be the same vivid shade of blue I'd guess not.

It pains me to say it since this was one campaign I was looking forward to seeing, but I really do think that I hate this. It's just far too plastic, too posed, too vivid and too predictable. I can't help but feeling that since the main (and possibly only) appeal of Gucci is sex appeal, it's ironic that someone envisions the Gucci man and woman as utterly un-sexy mannequins.

Those are absolutely stunning but don't look so different from the previous ads. So I'm not so thrilled about them :ermm:

These are beautiful! Raquel's poses are dynamic! I really don't care about the similarity to ss10 if they all turn out to be as gorgeous as the ones posted so far.

Thanks ADLET. I really don't have any idea why they would enhance the colors as they did in the ads given that the color scheme is so perfect in these snaps...

Do photographers get paid by the hour or something - it has to look like a lot of work went into it?

I just love this. Reminiscent to the S/S ad campaign but the shots are beyond Stellar

I totally agree. I think its the colour enhancing of these, that make them so similar to SS10.
The colouring in the photos from the shoot are more subtle and toned - different from the previous season, which would of worked.

^Although I love this campaign I have to agree......looking at the first eyewear shot, they could have left it the way it is and it still looks great.
With M&M I am now totally expecting enhanced colour and fairly unreal surroundings, especially for a brand like Gucci.....but I'm beginning to wonder if my comments will be favourable if the next campign they shoot is similar to this one. Thinking not.
