Gucci S/S 10 Milan

I like the collection, specially the monochromatic looks. The bags and shoes are amazing

i think this collection is very basic Gucci and I think a step forward for Frida, cause God knows she has tarnished Gucci's image with the past few collections. It is simple, sleek and sexy, which is what Gucci is and hopefully Frida will keep this image and improve for seasons to come!!!
I like it, but don't love it... but love it compared to past collections (if that makes sense!!!)

It does. You like it more than previous collections, but it's still not perfect.
I love it! Frida's best collection, IMO!

looks like i am the only one who doesnt appreciate it, it is still as tacky as ever. tom fordish yes but is a far cry from the original ford designs. it just lack the luxe of ford.

hmm i was expecting something else. some pieces are very nice, tho.
thanx for pix.

Major overload of Details

Looks like Frida is targeting the noveau rich audience with the major sensory overload of embellishment and detail making sure the customers stays happy paying $$$ for the collection.

Ok, it's both time Natasha in it but nevertheless..

the only reason i will sell is because it is not fridas usual aesthetic ,lol . I see Tom Ford, Facchinettis Gucci , Preen and Givenchy put in a blender lol

hate or loathe frida, you have to give it to her, i feel like her clothes have a modernness to them that look very now and i think thats her strength. making clothes that are now and sharp looking. i also think S/S is always going to be her better collections. i personally like it, she just needs to continue this streak.

I think it's actually quite the opposite. There is nothing modern about taking what people did for Fall 2009/10 and doing it for Spring 2010. So you are right that there is a very "now" look about her clothes but she isn't the pioneer of a look. She seems to lack a point of view when it comes to apparel.

I am very glad you said that because for seasons on top of seasons I have been trying to determine exactly who the Gucci girl/woman is in these days and I cannot quite catch it. Most strong brands have an identifying aesthetic/image. You can tell a Versace girl from a Balenciaga girl from a Prada girl from the ones that wear Balmain eventhough at the end of day they are just clothes. It appears Frida just makes clothes. Just makes things. There is no real image or point she is making to strongly speak to a customer and that's half of my problem with what she does. The other half being Gucci is no longer synonymous with luxury.
