This is quite uninspired, and the "hands" are too CdG from a few seasons back!

It feels awkward and clumsy, totally lacking finesse, and not that well fitted and/or sewn. What is going on at Chalayan? This is his second clunker in a row.

Quite a few of the pieces remind me a lot of Karl Lagerfeld S/S 09
One is practically identical.
Though he's done some lovely stuff here. Quite dull though... I think since people thought negatively about his fall collection with the plastic breads and ***-cracks..

I think we cant compare to CDG, of course is a hand but I think Hussein change it to a fabulous concept, it's actually holding the draping to become this is the major hand for the dress...

Looks like an 'edgy' Michael Kors collection, frankly... :ninja:

I do like the way he's done the hands. So bizarre and beautiful all @ the same time. But yeah, these shapes, silhouettes, the fabrication, the overall mood of it all - doesn't feel natural and heartfelt, imo. Feels like nothing more than a pesky, boring obligation on Chalayan's part. I know his work is in the details and it truly pays to witness his pieces in real life, but I'm not even interested to look any further into this, honestly...

very pretty. when a woman wants to dress like a woman.

I agree. At the very least, the CDG hands were freaky to me, but those are so sexy :P

this is definitely a more commercial collection for him. The evening wear are the stronger looks to me...less gimmicky and more interesting for sure.

me three about the hands. schiaparelli did them too, before any of them.. but hussein's take is interesting. although, it sort of stands out a bit in the collection, almost out-of-place. he's used them only in the white dresses, and it sort of looks like those Greek marble statues of the gods

I agree. especially looking back on his collections circa 2000... this just seems so drab and matronly in comparison. and you read my mind with the Michael Kors thing. I am all for simplicity and practicality when done well... and like you said, surely they will be nicely made and attractive pieces in person, but it seems really uninspired compared to his past works.

I love the "eclipse" quality of the hats and the shape of the sunglasses but overall, I don't like the majority of these pieces. The shapes sort of bulge undesirably, and frankly they force the shape of the classic woman's body so much it's poser.
