Frida takes all the great things in this brands and transformed in this amazing collection for Gucci SS10

Thanks to this, is the very first time what I liked Gucci after Tom's leave the maison

I guess it wouldn't be Frida without the prints. I just pass them over as I do with all the designers who insist on marring their collections with pointless prints. Anyway since this collection is rather an improvement for her, I'll leave off complaining.

Well, it's deff a few steps forward from the atrocity that was F/W 09. But I don't know... The more I look at it it just screams "Nike Haute Couture." I mean it's sooo sporty! And everything is so hard and cold, if that makes any sense. I just wish she'd put a bit of personality and sensuality in her designs.

What I respect about this collection is the attempt to make it more sophisticated. She has cleaned the lines up a bit and the collections seems more luxurious and less bohemian/party girl than before.

BUT in saying that - its too much of the same thing. The strap situation gets a bit repetitive by the end. And the collection is WAY too sport for a luxury house such as Gucci.

Disappointed yet again.

take out the prints and then this *might* have been a decent collection...
that being said, the bamboo handle bags are not new...she did them for resort in 2007...
and the shoes are such blatant copies of givenchy it's not even funny...

it's still better than any collection she's done since her first...

I feel exactly the same.

There are looks I really like in here, but I can't bring myself to love anything because it's Frida.

I am terribly fond of this... it finally is on the same level of and has the same aesthetic as the menswear: chic and elegant, but with a youthful, almost ostentatious sexiness.

its good compared to fridas standards but it looks like tacky taste on tom fords blade runner collection from 2003. The pants as usual are god awful ,accessories are great but thats what she is only good at.

I was actually thinking the same thing, you know, while seeing the full collection couldnt avoid the comparison. This looks so different from the Gucci I've been seeing for the past seasons, I'm glad that(besides Fall 2007) Frida finally did a collection that impressed me and still, its not something that I havent seen before at all, its seems to me like a Tom Ford bad rip-off and also I think that she added references from other designers.
I'm rather happy for this collection, it was more that what I was expecting.

i feel like this is a great collection for gucci, its completely fresh & still every bit commercial in the ways giannini knows how to market. the shoes are seriously the business.
