Gucci S/S 10 Milan

Frida is finally compromised to Tom's vibe to save the last glory of GUCCI

Seeing the full collection is just amazing. I love the whole show, except what looks to be bamboo on the handles of the bags. Thanks a lot for posting the full collection!

No problem
btw, like the runway.

To be honest, this looks more like Facchinetti's work at Gucci than Ford's.

^^^^^^^^^ facchinettis work was derivative of tom fords work too.

Now that I've seen it all, I can say: I like it!
Dresses are nice, shoes amazing (like the last S/S collection), bags and clutches very feminine, it really is nice! :crush:

i'm shocked, this is sooo good!!! the bamboo handle bags are a must have!

Dislike what Frida does at Gucci SO much. why does she think Gucci needs to be so tacky.

Natasha's black dress is nice! Maybe a little bit sparkly, but still gorgeous! I'd like to see that one in my closet! :brows:

Really love this collection, takes Gucci back to the glory days:woot:, totally sexy strong and luxurious all the end dresses and gowns are droolworthy and the first cutout white dress on Natasha is heavenly:heart:

take out the prints and then this *might* have been a decent collection...
that being said, the bamboo handle bags are not new...she did them for resort in 2007...
and the shoes are such blatant copies of givenchy it's not even funny...

it's still better than any collection she's done since her first...

The shoes are killer.
The white dress on Natasha is stunning, I love this collection sexy yet classy.

Hell has gone sub-zero.

Up is now down.

I don't hate a Gucci collection.

:ninja:

I mean, as kimair said the prints drag this thing down a few notches from where it could have been because they make no sense whatsoever, there are plenty of references to other designer's work (I see Tisci, I see Preen, I see Faccinetti for Gucc...), and some of the clothes could've been more tightly edited in the design process. But there are good things about this. There seems to have been some actual designing going on, as opposed to just decorating a basic garment. And she didn't overload every last look with crappy accessories. I still don't think she's quite convincing as someone who designs for the aggressive, sexual and dangerous type....but I think this may be her best attempt at a Gucci collection ever.

I mean it took her four years, but who's counting? :innocent:

I've tried to let it sit a few hours and I just don't like it really. It's not convincing at all and I'm really surprised so many people like it. This is just such a miserable attempt to recreate the spirit that Tom Ford had brought to the label. She's using the same materials, shapes, styling, etc. but it's still lacking.

I feel the exact same way!

It's better than what she has been doing for the past couple of seasons but it's still off for me. Is it because she's an accessories designer that she has to have the bells and whistle like buckles, etc to junk up the clothes?

This is such a great improvement from last 2 disappointing seasons
The clothes are sassy, definited and glamorous at the same time.I'm glad the white part, which was pretty relevant in the man collection, was slighty reduced...white pants are just not working both on male and female!
The printed dresses are pretty cool, they don't even look cheap like those Zara inspired SS09 dresses
Good work Frida!
And the shoes are just amazing and killer, every put a model step is a muder lol

is there a line in her contract which says you must do prints or you'll be fired ?!
she never gets tired of prints ?

^^ but there was a time when her prints where kind of good! her first resort collections, some of the print she used when she did the bags (NOT the flora -_-)

it is a step forward for Frida, but it's not quite what one would expect from gucci.
What gucci needs is someone that takes it to a whole new thing from the beginning. Different from frida, alessandra, and even tom.
I absolutely agree with Salvatore. If anything, more than Ford, this looks like the work of Facchinetti (though as much as I liked her vision for Valentino, I was never a fan of her years at gucci)
