Gucci S/S 2013 Milan

Terrible collection, in my opinion. Props, I guess, to Frida for trying something different, but unfortunately, it's a fail. My main issue is that there are just too many different directions and ideas within this collection - sneak skin, ruffles, psychedelic, hippie, minimalist, modern, retro, colors, Florida retirement wear, etc,. And that's not to say that I dislike all of it, just that they just don't particularly work together. Another problem is that most of it is just so shapeless. It didn't even look good on models.

Shoes and hair/makeup were killer though.

I agree. Not much in the way of continuity. But I suppose that's not the point... I don't know.

The shoes and accessories were absolutely stunning.

I'm not a fan of the prints in the slightest, though. It was a very hit-and-miss collection for me. The gowns were lovely but they reminded me all to much of Lanvin or even recent Valentino collections at some points (the blustery sleeves especially.) I rather liked the white and black pieces, though.

It´s always a mix of something. I´m tired of hearing this kind of comment,, it looks like Lanvin, or Valentino, or this or that".
this collection isn´t made for artist that need some inspiration or TFS critics(lol)- she made it for rich costumers that are ready too spent that money on it- and they will cause it´s a good collection.
I think it´s a wearable, Gucci and rich collection. The dresses are nice, the jewelery also great, Accessories as always- well done.

WOW, I am impressed, its very 90s. Its very wearable and artistic. Frida is on a roll, I thought I would never say those words.

When I saw the first few photos I checked the thread title to make sure it was Gucci, and not Lavin. It didn't get any better from there. The collection was littered with unflattering after unflattering pieces. It's as if she's never cut a garment for a human before. And the prints were ghastly. The only positive I saw were the accessories.

I went several times through the images. I must admit that I really like the rich colours and the statement accessories. Love the heels.

I'm curious how it will work and look in real life. ^_^

Yeah, that's point of pretty much every fashion show...

Love it so far... the fresh color palette is so lovely after the dark gothic glamour Frida did for Fall. I can definitely see this bright fuschia shade, as well as the electric blue as major trends for Fall.

With that being said though I quite like it....not as a collection but I can see it being quite sale-able with a few red carpet pieces even.

It looks like a hybrid of Valentino and Lanvin to me.

EDIT: Haha, I totally didn't read the other comments. I guess I'm not alone.

such a disappointment, i expected a more luxurious and stunning collection

It`s so LAME to warm up the 60s & 70s over and over again... *YAWN*

Disapointing collection.

Just  the Collection, as a 70s addict i simply adore the retro feel.
Good Job, Frida

I don't like ruffles even when Alber Elbaz does them and I have never been into the 70's/disco queen thing, so I don't like that collection. But it's not badly done.
