High Waisted Jeans #1

im still not sure if they ever "came" . even here in NY, I only see a few girls wearing this look, day, night, weekend etc. i do think jeans rises are higher in general. i do see it more in spring/summer, when you don't want anything sticking to your legs.

its still a relatively new trend , esp in denim , honestly I like that it hasnt gone mass market yet, the way it has with bootcuts , then skinnies but I have a feeling it will eventually go that route lol, people first look at something new with contempt , warm up to it and then wear it like nobodys business , I have seen this time and time again. Case and point are skinny jeans , 80% of girls DO look horrible in them but ,they could really give a **** , its just about the fashion and looking different .

actually---in europe and nyc stovepipe jeans are big, because they look good on most the young woman. most women aren't THAT curvy, and in euro-types, the average size is 4-6, around 5.6.

the looking horrible is just a matter of opinion.

I hate the way they look on Rihanna. Sorry, I know a lot of people like her style, but I just am not digging it.

But I will give credit to Rihanna she at least is experiment albeit in a weird way but at least she is one celeb who doesnt wear jbrands habitually , most celebs now wear either those love stories or jbrand 912s lol , like all the damn time. 2 days one of my friends was wearing those miss60 corseted jeans , it looked good and the next the day she wore some high waisted flares , she looked fab , she told me , she loves the high waist because , it feels sophisticated and smart and she said she was influenced by the the celebs wearing them.

......hahaha.

so i need another pair of high waisted tapered raw/unwashed jeans...my OK nudies are wearing down. ...anyone have any suggestions?

^^^cheap mondays ........they high waisted , super tight , and reasonable in price , or monkee genes.

problem with them they quality is well...cheap....siwy has a high waisted jean , their quality is superb , its not super tight , more of a late 70s style straight narrow jean , but lostinthemotion bought them and she says they are great.

great example from the sartorialist blog of a petite woman looking elegant in wideleg, high waisted.

high waisted pencil skirts is very sexy, i don't see myself wearing high waisted jeans or pants.

I am th9inking about it since it can create an edgy architectural shape. on the other hand, imho, i have good legs (my best asset). the wide leg shape steal away my chance to show off my legs.

i know wideleg pants can make them look longer, but slimmer cuts show off toned thighs more effectively.

its short of like the trapeze dress--cool shape, but a lil too modest.

thats subjective^^

I have great legs , but pure wide legs are more about silhouette and creating one for you ,esp if you have flaws. One of my friends is 5'10 has great legs but feels she looks like a spider in tight fit jeans and finds the higher waist wide leg , classy and elegant , so its subjective , what ever you want super sexy or classy and elegant.

What about jeans with a higher rise that are still fitted through the thigh? It seems like they'd accentuate your legs even more!

acne luv or a-pant? has anyone tried these on? looking for 9" rise and narrow through thigh which breaks at the knee?

acne tube is ~16'' at hem... wide but not too wide, almost straight.
and then there are plenty of tapered high waists.

I wish I could find a high-waisted pair of jeans that isn't so wide leg.

Acne tubes are a good choice they are between skinny and wide but they are really expensive in my opinion .

A decent wide leg jean are Jbrand maliks (21 inch leg) , vintage Jordache jeans (late 70s), my fav is the zazou by jbrand, its a 22 inch leg and a high waist , I wear it to work a lot with blazer with skivvies or henley . I like wide legs but they have to be in a flowy material anyways im obsessed with fashion from the mid to late 70s.
