I love my pair of Levi's Capital E and i'm 5'2

I have these exact high waisted jeans by levis capital e and adore them!!! I am 5'5 and wear them with heels and the fit is amazing. I have tried many premium denim brands but these levis are one of the best fitting.
They fit great and the back pockets are placed perfectly on the butt as to not look 1980's mom.

i'm happy that jeans come with longer inseams that way i can just hem them to whatever length i want versus how it was a few years ago or more where i couldn't find long enough jeans. i remember when most of the jeans i'd try on w/ 34'' tagged inseams would hit right at the heel and flood to or above my ankles when i would sit down...

...another thing, jeans can shrink vertically.

Chanel had some great high waisted jeans .....i love the jeans in the 2009 cruise collection

the ginger comes in diff. inseams, disco?

are u serious? where in nyc?

you're right, you can hem them if you have to. I never actually have done this, though. If I have any pairs that are too long, I wear them with heels or platforms only OR I tuck them up an inch. With skinnies this works easily. With fuller flared or straight opening jeans, not so much, but I mostly wear skinnies anyway.

I still would love to know the "reason" for the extra-long inseams. I find it gratuitous.
o c'mon.

I am sure you are aware , on some level, you are not that tall---and there are women who need longer inseams than you.

i have 37 inch inseam trousers that i wear with SMALL heels. all but one of my jeans are by notify. i wear those (33.5 inseam) with flats.

which brand ^^^^ yeah gia, in regards to your question. I was visiting the 7 jeans store in North Park , Dallas , TX . Ginger there came in a 30 inch ,32 inch, 34 and a 36 inch . Thats what the sales associate told me . I have seen the other 3 but not the 36 inch one. The only brands which I know do really long inseams are Notify , Grey Ant and 2 others whose names allude me at the moment.

I didn't say I was that tall, but obviously 5'5" isn't really short, either, and my inseam is considerable for someone of that height. It's just interesting to see the "cool" brands only favor one end of the spectrum
Of course there are some women who need extra-long inseams, but it certainly isn't the norm. There are probably more women who need petite inseams (which are...28"?) than 37" inseams, yet they are harder to find in designer denim lines!
My query is in regards to why these PARTICULAR brands favor such long inseams. Are designer denim shoppers automatically assumed to be tall? I'm just wondering what ideals they use to standardize these measurements.

most europeans are on the tall side, secondly you can hem your jeans. i can't. also, i have NEVER met a woman your height with legs the same length as the avg 5.10 and up woman. I have met many who claimed.

why not just accept you are around avg, and designers are trying to accomadate a broader spectrum? think of it like shoe sizes.

disco I will ook out for these longer gingers. I just bought a pair of silvae by notify. midrise, wider/mannish cut. beautiful draping. also over 37 inches long.

personally I like longer inseams because you can alter it the way you want, with a shorter inseam ,you cant add that old fabric back . Btw gia NETAPORTER , has lots of jeans with long inseams, you dont have to buy them off their site , they are insanely overpriced but you can see what brands carry long inseams , and their mannequins are all 5'11 so you can see how the jean drapes.

I didn't mean to offend, gia. I'm actually curious to know why certain brands do this and others do not, mainly. I notice pricier lines in general cater to taller people - for example, the designer I currently work for made a whopping 38" inseam on some of our wide legged dress pants in a recent collection and even our 5'11" models had to have them pinned up. Again, you don't see the lesser expensive brands creating inseams over 34" very often (I'm sure there are exceptions).

Is there a reason it is done primarily at higher price points?

I agree with Disco totally. I appreciate having a longer inseam so that I can hem to the length I need for certain shoes or flats, but I also tricky hem all my own jeans. Making it not expensive to change lengths.

I am average height. I suppose if I was smaller then It might be upsetting as if you are hemming a jean by 4" you can loose how the jean sits at the hem. I have noticed when I am hemming a pair to wear short it will change the way the hem looks.

Best bet is to buy brands that offer different inseams I suppose. Diesel comes in 3 different inseams on every pair of jeans they make beside the fashion pants.

shirleebee--could you tell me the designer. that is my perfect inseam for heels.

I have wondered this same thing and I agree with you that its a bit strange how the cool looking jeans are always made for 6 foot long girls (lenght 34-36). Im from Europe and Im 5'7 and here I am above the average height of a Finnish woman (which is about 5'5). I am usually taller than most of my U.S. friends as well. The more south you go in Europe, the shorter the people get too. So why make these oblong jeans so much for the "short market"? Ok, yes you can hem them but they just dont look the same after the procedure.

I love how Cheap Monday makes the 30 inch length cropped skinny jeans. They are a bit on the short side for me (like half an inch) but I like the cropped look. They look good with flats and heels. Very huge trend here in Scandinavia now..

actually, even though the inseams are longer, they are not cut for a longer leg. first off, 34 inchs would only work on a 6ftr if she was wearing sandals/ballet flats. even when i do buy a pair that is 37 inches long, the knees are placed on the leg as if i were 5.7, and usually bunch around my knees and lower thigh. that is one reason why widelegs are great. that sort of thing isn't an issue.

maybe expensive brands don't want to cut off a segment of the population? maybe its cuz statitically tall people are wealthier? I think it is similar to high end shoes often being available in odd sizes.
