^^^^ whatever lost lol...all the stores are using the word henleys again lol...skivvies....are like skinny tees and sweaters , ribbed usually ...ol skool baby..

hey, i didn't bring it up!!!
you are taking it back.
i always thought skivvies were thong underwears

I love the cut on those. The question is will they look like that on someone who isn't 5'11"? lol

^^^^answer HELL YEAH ....just wear heels if you want that really elongated model look ...thats the key................i wear mine with retro converses and heels, it can be worn in many ways , im 5'6 .

my cousins who are 5'2 and 5'3 use to wear jeans like this a lot in the late 70s because with heels it gave them that elongated look .

I have high waisted shorts if that counts, I don't really favor them as much as I did when I got them, but I guess thats with all the clothes you get. At one point your just like why?

you don't need heels, you just need to make sure you have the right proportions! I love my pair of Levi's Capital E and i'm 5'2

I have the proportions, as my legs are long for my body (yay). And I'm not short - 5'5"+. But if those jeans have a 36" inseam or something, that's a bit ridiculous.

yeah but I find inseams are constantly creeping up. Either way, as long as the width of the jean is the same at the ankle as it is at the calf, than tailoring it is no problem

no ...im 5'6 ........those jeans probably have a 34 inch inseam , and you can hem them from a tailor and they are good to go , I have to jeans i hemmed (wide leg ) i wear them with sneakers , the ones i wear with heels are hemmed just one inch or unhemmed .
Good point meg....about the width...

most jeans dont have 36inch inseam another tfser has a problem because most inseams are short and she is 5'11 , most inseams are 32-34 inches , and popular lines like say the ginger from 7 jeans comes in a 30 , 32 ,34 and 36 inch inseam

^ I have friend who is also about 5'11 or 6 foot tall and its really really hard for her to find high waisted flares that are long enough. with skinny jeans there is no problem, because they can be a little cropped..

I honestly don't know that many people (even those around 6 feet tall) that take over a 34" inseam. I'm sure they exist, but I always find it odd that "designer denim" lines make much longer inseams than, say, GAP does. For example, Grey Ant and Balenciaga don't seem to produce ANY pants with less than a 35" - 37" inseam! Do they think all their customers are amazonian giants? The average woman's inseam is a mere 29". Mine is quite above average at 33-34", but sometimes it seems that most non-skinny jeans are cut even longer than that these days. I think inseams seem longer with a full flare, anyway, because of the volume.

I totally agree about this! I don't get it either why they do that.. I found skinny jeans with 30 length and they are perfect. and im 5'7. 30 inch lenght is very very rare..
However, I think my monki flared high waisted jeans could be just a bit longer. When I wear high heels they tend to look a bit short, especially when Im walking. I know that thats how they were in the 70s but still..

over all

in denim...they tend to make inseams longer than they should be for normal people , or heights in range of 5'2 -5'7,which the vast majority of girls are. All the jeans which i use for walking have 30-31 inch inseams . Another thing in defense they make large inseams , so you can hem it to your length and wear heels .

you're right, you can hem them if you have to. I never actually have done this, though. If I have any pairs that are too long, I wear them with heels or platforms only OR I tuck them up an inch. With skinnies this works easily. With fuller flared or straight opening jeans, not so much, but I mostly wear skinnies anyway.

I still would love to know the "reason" for the extra-long inseams. I find it gratuitous.
