Holga / Lomographic Cameras & Photography

i'm glad there is a thread like this.

i am thinking about buying a holga. sometimes you can find them at little mom and pop camera stores near universities.

i have three lomos (the nine lens, the colorsplash, and the 4 lens)

the 4 lens photos always come out partially blurry....

icarlo, your pics are amazing!! i love the factory pic!

I think I've officially lost my damn mind. I've made a Polga. Polaroid body + Holga lens. I've destroyed two Polas in the process, but I've now got it to a science. Somebody hold me.

^ Oh, lemme say it hasn't been tested yet. It'll be a while I think.

After falling in love with everything plastic i decided that a lovely plastic holga would be a good idea since after alot of googling and emails i found a shop in Newcastle that processes 120mm film hooray!

and heres the but:doh: if i get one here in the uk it will cost £50 but if i ship from america the shipping costs as much as the camera although all added together this is £35 maybe when i can justify spending that much on a plastic camera i might just buy one.

^try checking eBay. I've bought two off there, the first one I bought cost me $10 and the second one was $20 including shipping from Asia to Europe.

just go to lomography.com and find a store that has it near you in the UK.

i tryed ebay.co.uk but they all seem to be from japan and are a complete package of all the extras and the cameras they are selling have glass lenses and i'd prefer a plastic lense although i'll keep checking.

i'll try finding a store near me thanks for the suggestions:flower:

so i have my holga now^_^

i got over my first hurdle and got the film loaded, but before i even got to take a picture while navagating my room i knocked it off my draws and the back came off. should i just take picture with that roll of film anyway or is it doomed?

 - you have nothing to lose by taking that picture...the camera already has light leaks so just go for it. in a frame or 2 it shouldn't really matter.

have fun and let us see when it's processed!

^^^ thanks i shall be out and about tomorow snapping for my new uni brief although some shots will be for fun which is what i wanted the camera for.

Pah! I dropped in entire roll of film once and it unraveled a bit, I loaded it anyway. This was the first shot of the roll, I was overlapping all the shots on purpose just to kill the roll I thought was bad. All the area to the left got exposed to light. And no, it's not me, it's a friend who everyone says looks like me.

^ Click me! I grow!

i'll just have to wait and see what happens:shifty:

its too cold and rainy to go out and take pictures at the moment, or i need a bigger coat and some gloves

I wouldn't spend more than $25 on a Holga myself, and I don't like the flash models, but that's just me. Just don't buy one at Urban Outfitters, they're selling some package to the hipsters for $80. LOL

Here's a Holga used to trip wireless strobes. It worked well for a horrid little camera:

After doing some research, I ended up ordering a Holga 120N today from a seller on ebay. It was like $27, including shipping. I'm sooo excited to get it! :woot: Does anyone else on a 120N, and what do you think of it?
