Bebe Buell in her riot style over early days as a model and music influence... and her European tour with Aerosmith... Awww im a hopeless romantic or crazy...
Lately i've been inspired by the 80s. Well actually i'm always inspired by the 80s ;D but not the excess and ostentation, but rather the emphasis on fitness, natural beauty, and health. I'm talking classic faces, the Supermodel, robust bodies (i.e. not the frail builds seen on catwalks right now), glowing, sunkissed skin, broad smiles, long, thick hair with volume, men in unstructured suits to show off gym toned figures.. some of the girls nowadays look like undernourished, ailing geriatrics! I know it's a cliche, but I really need a shot of optimism (2009 has been the year of doom n gloom) and looking to those good old days is my way of dealing.
I want a dose of 90s style, and I've wanted it for some time now- the 80s never really resonated with me, the ostentation is a bit too much. I've always admired the way Rumi from Fashion Toast bucked the 80s trend and went straight to the 90s instead- it's a decade more of us are likely to remember properly.
I'm totally feeling Japanese biker girl right now- still badass, but not in the style of Alexander Wang/Balmain, and it's cooler too. . Like Yohji A/W 2008/09..
i don't know why, but i'm inspired by ....this? i would totally encourage my non existant kids to dress this way, more like the guy on the left or the one on the right. i don't like that much the dandy in the middle.
and i wasn't searching for "the trend" on google images, but for "young punkrockers"! you can take the test if you don't believe me, hahahah -only one young punkrocker in the pic, though-
i'm tempted to search for "the trend" on google images just to see what happens!
