today i feel very inspired by two very different characters... Chris Robinson in his early days on stage and Faulkner quotes...

A few/several pages ago a you tube link was posted to this sweet little cartoon/film that I think was drawn by a Japanese artist?!?! I can't find it again and would love to see it again...can anyone tell me what page it is on. :flower:

im so mixed inspired at the moment between Juliette Lewis, the grrrreat (his music will make him always alive) Johnny Thunders and Joe Cardamone (The Icarus Line) vibe... kinda 60s era... but in a new sense... Plus im quite into Faulkner quotes who also revolve my mind... so yeah what a mix huh?

^ I love Juliette Lewis. I always thought she was a great actress because she's so realistic.
She bites her nails in several different films I've seen her in - it's a natural motion.

Sound a cliché but im quite inspired but kurt Cobain old ideas... i share a lot of things that i know how is to be in the middle of something and nowhere at the same time... if got a kurt cobain day... great inspiration not in like a fashion icon they made out his name, songs, lyrics and all... but the person behind all of that ... the honesty... I really like that...
its a lovely rainy day here so it matches with having such a great inspiration today....

Inspiration is very important to me. I've come to the conclusion that I need to concentrate considerably less on fashion and look towards my other passions: namely art.
I have so many books in my bedroom on art, but I fear not enough - I need to discover new artists and new colours, new ideas that will all aid my work.
I have rediscovered my Lowry book - the spine of the book has faded - it shows how long it's been since I've looked at it and I was never truly interested in it when I looked at it before.
Now I am so intent on being inspired I am desperate to absorb more and more.

did you study elements and principles of design in your art classes mr diamonds? :meow:
ie. line,shape, rhthym, value,etc

i think these will help you even more and give you a sound basis to create your work from, more than any other artist can give you
it will help you to create your own, alone than having to look outside of yourself
i'm always wary of getting ideas from something that has already been made/designed, another person's work, since my own reason for creating art/design is to make something that looks like *me* whatever that means ^_^ but anyway i think the main aim to be a designer is to find your very own way of working and reasons for working. there is no one answer. the perfect answer is whatever means the most to you

although if you come across things you like, by all means hold on to them! :-D i think inspiration is what creates the spark, a reminder of where you want to go.. so it's always good to collect things that have meaning for you. eventually what you collect you'll see they all look similar and you'll find yourself a closer step to "personal style"

Oh! Oh! Crying Diamonds I was in a similar art inspiration funk this past spring until I received this book, it was truly a god send:

Moscow & St. Petersburg 1900-1920: Art, Life, & Culture of the Russian Silver Age (cover image from Amazon.com)

The images collected in here are breathtaking, diverse, and incredibly inspiring no matter what medium of art you gravitate towards.

It's $30 on amazon.com, but I borrowed it for free from a library loan program and I suggest you do so as well! Very much worth it if you're not already familiar with it.

I big time got suddenly back inspired to the oldies late 60s movie Performance since the lovely BohoBelle told me my style remind her to Anita Pallenberg style wow! Big thanks to her!! how much i love that movie....and her style was so awesome...so into rockin' enviroments as I am for good or for bad
