Interview March 2011 : Amanda Seyfried by Mikael Jansson

Thank you everyone for all your contributions!
I am very impressed.
Amanda is turning me into a REAL fan! First Mila, now her!

This looks like one of Interview's best issues in a while! Both the cover and content are great overall.

I'm not that interested in Amanda Seyfried (and the fact that Justin Timberlake interviews her here doesn't exactly tickle me with interest), but I love what they've done with her for her ed. I've always thought her look has great editorial potential, and, except for the couch shot which isn't quite up to par with the rest, none of her pictures disappoint.

The cover is pretty great too. Although the grey background is a bit boring (mainly there's just too much of it visible) and the way Amanda's head covers the masthead kinda feels off, the cover shot itself is stunning; great styling and lighting, and just an all around terrific choice for the cover. And it always delights me when a photographer is able to take a picture of a non-model celebrity in which she actually looks like she's modeling, not just standing around with no clue.

I just don't know about the blue glow. To me it just looks like something went wrong in the printing.

Anyway, really happy to see Suvi and Sasha P inside as well (though their ed could've really used more of them and less of Kasia), Karen's ed is just brilliant, and Chloë Sevigny's interview with Proenza Schouler is pretty good, too.

Only the M&M ed does absolutely nothing for me. Their photographic style really bores me from time to time.

The Carlyne editorial looks like old Vogue Italia shots - great ones at that.

All those contents are seriously outstanding.
Karen's editorial is IMO the best ed this year so far. The M&M story comes close after.
I'm not really impressed by the cover, but I have to say that Amanda's spread is amazing.
Moreover, as usual the interviews are very interesting read so this is a PERFECT issue from A to Z.
