First of all having an authentic GGH to match the colors really helps
But I would say 90% Gold leaf and 10% florentine gold is the ratio.
You need a really thin paint brush,like a needle point.
And the technique is dotting into the crannies..back and forth, not side to side.
I did a complete bag, I did it all freehand and didn't use masking tape i was just VERY careful, i can't imagine masking the leather around the HW, it would be a real pain.
The finished result is pretty (If I say so myself) AMAZING.
Yes i will do all my GGH bags, but not all at once.
I wouldnt paint O rings or zippers tho. Painring a shiny surface could lead to streaks so i wouldn't advise that, But if you're brave and have some spare O rings you can practise.
Also if you have a spare GGH, I would say practise on that before you venture on to a bag. it's pretty easy tho, just take your time and start on the sides or back so you build up some confidence.

coco are you sure that the silver hardware then is the right one? it seems a bit darker than it should be. but i don't have an auth o compare with...

The silver hardware is as close as it can possibly be. Remember this is a rep we are talking about. In my authentic Pommier Giant Day the silver hardware is a bit shinier and has a bit more depth to the hardware. The hardware on all the Giant Bags has been improved due to my having sent my Giant Day bag in to the boys. This is the reason why the O-rings on all the bags were corrected as well. I don't think that anyone can get this hardware any closer to the original.

many of you will not find my posts friendly but i am being honest here. I dont post as often as before anymore(for a reason) but i do jump in here time to time help out newbies or whatever concern someone has that i know the answer.
some members on here-including myself sell bags on ioffer and if i see someone selling something, i will post it on here, regardless i know that person or not. please dont think i have anything to do with the sales i "promoted" before, not at all.
no one PM me and thanked me for letting the girls know about the sale, but when i give my opinion about a sell, turn out im being negative?
what's wrong with me posting what i think about that specific bag on here? someone can say "it's gorgeous" but i cant say "something is wrong?"

For those who ordered 5 or more bags from jacky/catty at once, do you guys ever get concerned about customs (in the USA that is)? I feel like that it will be too obvious and that the bags would be seized.

I have never ordered more than 1 bag at any time from any seller for that very reason.

Please don't stop posting and letting us know your opinion about this or that bag. You are really knowledgeable about brands and details and the main reason why this forum was created was to discuss about rep bags..details right or wrong..Telling people about what you think about x or y bag is a favour you are doing to people like me, that does not know what to look when buying a rep bag and Im really glad you take your time to contribute to this forum !

babyyorkie: I do appreciate all of your knowledge and critique. I do think that the bales on the older bags which T&D made are more square. The bags that they have made recently are more oval/oblong in nature. T&D have made improvements to their designs of late.

Now all I want to know is when am I getting my Black Men's Day.
I ordered it back in October of 2010 and have yet to receive it.
Hopefully soon.
