i am sure that everyone is put off by the current pricing...
especially considering that we are in a serious recession...

i think that the people at IM are seriously overestimating the appeal of the items...
not everyone is swayed by PR and hype...
and the usual IM customer usually isn't swayed by those sorts of things much at all, i think...

:ermm:...
i got a lot of nothing from her this season and that is just fine with me....

*i tried on that top that helena got the other day at barney's...
it was :yuk: on me...
made me look WAY hippy...not good...
:ninja:...

After two weeks of going back and forth, I decided to get the thigh-high boots......

I recently sold one of my guitars that was a struggle to play because of my small hands. It was saddening to let it go and I made more money than anticipated, so I wanted to treat myself. Was this the wisest purchase I have ever made? Probably not, but oh well.

^ i love the thigh-high boots, i'm sure you'll look great in them! :)

I love the boots, if I had the money I would go for it. I think you made the right decision.:flower:

Liberty as a card holders sale at the moment, some Isabel stuff is at 50%., i think it will end at the 16th.

I have a feeling that once you receive them, you will be more than thrilled with your purchase.

After much deliberation, I have decided that I cannot afford them right now. I just bought a plane ticket for more than the cost of the boots so I think I have to give my bank account a rest.

Does anyone think the thigh-highs will actually hit the Isabel Marant boutiques? I have this total fantasy that perhaps I will be able to get my hands on them once I am in France this August, but this is probably just a dream, haha.

girls, is this plaid tunic Isabel Marant?

Aby - has the sale started in the IM boutiques yet? Also which one do you think has the best stock...I have very limited time in Paris this weekend and was wondering which store to go to...thinking the newest one in the 3rd so we can have breakfast at the new Rose Bakery....oh yes and I want to visit that new place...Merci...have you been?

Sales started today!!

The IM store in the Marais you mention is the one I'd recommend if only because it has individual fitting rooms and is less crowded than the one in Bastille. My 2nd choice would be the one in St-Germain.

About Merci, never went there, so can't say, heard it was a nice place to hang out, not so much for shopping.

Anyway, you should find plenty of shopping temptations in the haut Marais (rue saintonge, poitou, debelleyme and of course vieille du temple)!

Enjoy, your week-end Helena!

Bought this pair of sort of jogging trousers from the new collection. I'll take a pic later. But I still can't get over how stupid the mark up was .

I saw a great pair of black trousers on sale yesterday at 50% off, would have bought them if I actually wore black trousers.. They looked very similar to the hyped grey 'sweatpants'. IM doesn't sell out here in Stockholm so there are always good pieces left during the sales. I'm going to see if they have any tees left tomorrow..

les sucettes...i love her trousers, congrats. they usually have a bit of a drop waist and low pockets. she seems to design with a womens body in mind... which shouldnt be such an accomplishment but it is. eileen fisher does this well too.

Oh! Thank you. It's true, they always look very simple and most people probably wonder why would we pay for something that looks with a lot of stuff we can find in other stores, but are this small details that you mentioned that actually make all the difference...:flower:

and the fit as well. Not sure if you have a difficult body type to fit, but I do and when something fits and looks good, I'll buy/wear it, whether it cost $5 or $500.

speaking of amazing IM pants, desperately want the 'Elisee' ones from summer - a sort of loose relaxed chino style.

They seem to have sold out pretty much everywhere by now in my size ... I am a US 6/8 so i suppose around an IM 2 in these ... if anybody has them and can comment on the size, or has seen in-store would you mind letting me know ... thanks :)

How much are the infamous grey sweatshirt pants anyway?

I hardly ever buy pants because it's so hard to find ones that fit properly on me, but from the sounds of this one I want to give it a go!

charps, go with 2 but 1 will work as they are not a tight fitted trouser.

so, do you guys think the fall drop is going to bring anything worthwhile? i'm thinking the dresses and skirts seem very form-fitted, too tight for my taste. maybe a wool jacket...just not sure what is going to make me push the green button? usually a top or two but the look to be velvet????
