Jean-Paul Gaultier S/S 06 Paris

I'm having a hard time identifying the exact ethnic references here...but I kinda like it. It is verging on going back to that gypsy/boho look which I'm REALLY off........but I think it's still a cute collection.

I like parts of it..... especially those androgynous suits worn by Gemma and *insert model's name here* at the bottom of page one, very cute, and the splashes of red really accentuates the black :) He's expanding his territories I see, and claiming the grounds of kiddie couture :D

love it.

and i also love that they put crystal rehn on the runway. it really shows skill when you can design for everyone

beautiful collection, and his stage design is so consistant with the whole show as well. That jacket is just divine. it made me breathless. Another must have piece!

Who's the plus size model on post 1, etc...?

The model is Crystal Renn(sp?)...She's been in Vogue, French Vogue a couple of times...I think she has her own thread here too.

ugh..... no thanks...... all this boho nonsense AGAIN!!! :yuk:

I love the spectacle, the kids are adorable, and the presentation is marvellous   I like many of the pieces :flower:

Like it. The boho thing that bubbles mentioned (which I never knew about until I started hanging out on tfs, but I do see alot of bad versions of it walking up and down the street) may be a bit of a problem... but whatever,,, Aside from that, looks very fun. Love the colors. On the whole... love the theme, models are so cute.... also looks very wearable (probly not for me ...). Like day to day. Sort of sexual but also familyish too, that is maybe, innocent?? maybe. sort of like unspoil paradise.
sexy happy family :p :p :p :p
yeah!! love the red.

There is nothing inherently wrong with bohemian influences, everyone! This is a beautiful, heartfelt collection in its own right; not fair to judge it in context of what others are doing...(albeit boring us to bits...^_^ )

I personally had begun to give up on liking Gauliter again, but this show proves me wrong. It's great!

He's had plus-sized models on the runway in the past; Crystal is really beautiful though, and it's interesting that her size doesnt really stand out even among the thin models...

first of all before i say anything, let me state that i absolutely love Gaultier. he is one of my top five favorate designers, i also see him as a career role model but by the standards to whici i hold him i consider this collection very average.
He is too creative to refrence himself so much in one collection. this is like a "cut and splice" of his greatest hits (i expect more than that from him, i hope he is not playing it safe because of his business' recent financial problems, even though i can forgive him for doing that)

another thing i dont like about this collection, even more than the clothes is the fact that he is showing **** and children in the same show, i dont really like that, (just my conservative view)

]\?\0\0\0\0]i?\0l]count me in. :p this makes me think of gypsy caravans and dancing around a fire. the hay is a dead giveaway. Love the little family with the ring master (those boots! :woot:), trapeze artist/bareback rider and darling kiddies. ^_^[/QUOTE]
*takes tinuviel's hand and skips off to join the gypsy caravan*...

don't you just love the sound of a squeeeeeezebox...?!?!
;)

....

That was sooooo much fun. And I like the necklace that Gemma is wearing on the 1st page, with the suit.

On a side note: My grandmother used to like to tell me that our family was derived from Greek gypsies...well, she said that's why I never liked to sit down when I ate as a child.

ahhh, maybe that's why I'm feelin this collection. Feels like home. ;)
