Knitting!

yes looks very good :)

did you keep washing it till it becomes completely mat? and the knit stitches disappear..

It's cool there's a knitting thread in TFS. I just started to learn how to knit, I got all these books from the library and a friend of my mother's is going to help me, hopefully I'll actually make an actual piece of clothing once i get good at the basics. That sweater on the previous page is beautiful :)

thanks!

You can still see the stitches very faintly if you look at it closeup.

I set the cycle to run for 15 minutes, but stopped it a bit sooner when I saw the unravelling at the collar (totally my fault for not fixing the loose end prior to washing).

maybe you can backstitch (or weave) it back inside
and re-felt

i like the texture of the faint knit though

I took the jacket to a tailor. I didn't know what to do with it.
She stitched the yarn strings closed. You can totally see the stitching and how I screwed it up. But I thought I had no choice, so I just have to live with it. :(

Sorry for the crappy lighting in these pics. It's the best I can do right now.

The second pic is the left side of the collar for comparison.

The screwed up side is only 3 inches on the right side of the collar. So not too bad. At least that's what I keep telling myself.

beautiful..seems to have many tiny different colours..

i don't see the ruined part actually :o
it just looks like there is a little "dent" in the first pic. like the thread shifted in one section but it's hard to notice

It's barely noticable even on the close-ups. I honestly know how you feel, though. When I have knitted or sewn something, and there is a mistake in it (however slight), I feel there is a giant arrow pointing at it! I think your jacket is brilliant and you should be really proud of yourself.

Thanks Feline. I agree I'm making a mountain out of a molehill. The people who I've shown the jacket to never mentioned it.

I wish my knitting was good enough for this!

that lil error is nothing!!! i would LOVE to see the finished coat. i am preparing myself to take on the pattern and do one too. i just cant stop thinking about it!!

Here :flower:
Forget what I wrote in that post about the collar being closer to my neck. After I actually wearing the jacket several times, it's alright the way it is. I would definitely make the buttonholes smaller though.
What colour is yours going to be?

Deborah, that sweater is cute. Colour knitting is something I want to try in the future.

Right now, I'm close to finishing this lacy scarf.

Thank you! Not itchy at all.
I already have thoughts of making another one.

I finished that scarf, but I'll probably give it to my mom. It's not really me.
