The piano part with her boy & girl self was my favorite part of the video. If she created the pieces why can't she use them again? Wigs ain't cheap, rock them sh!ts 'til they fall apart

Captain_Lydia -- you are always my favourite, i love your wit and generally sardonic nature. and you have the best avatar of all time. love that you never change it. it's iconic, i must say.

i ADORE the new video.

i just love Gaga. that's it. there's nothing much i can say. she's made pop music exciting again and i believe Tony Bennett when he says that she'll be as big as Elvis. i really think she will be.

Whitney Houston is my diva. she's the best voice ever and my favourite superstar to ever grace the stage. thusfar, there's been nobody since who's captured my heart as well as my fascination in quite the same way ---- that is, until Gaga. she's my Number 2. and i'll defend her and her significance to anybody who will listen.

Brilliant that the reporter decided Natalie is interested in fashion, since she goes to Parsons...

Is Lady Gaga's sister set to be the next big name in fashion?

Never mind Lady Gaga, it's her younger sister that we need to watch out for.

According to WWD, Natalie Germanotta is rumoured to be making the costumes for a new Broadway show, Simon Says. After interning with designer Allison Parris, it seems that Germanotta is keen to continue working in the fashion industry.

So what can we expect from the budding designer? If her older sister's sense of style is anything to go by, Natali's creations will certainly be out of the ordinary.

We were wondering why they panned into this lady with a striking resemblance to the GaGa in the hall scene from the "Telephone" video while Lady GaGa was waiting for her call from Beyonce. She didn’t seem like she was tough enough for incarceration. Well. it turns out to be Lady GaGa’s sister. (I always thought it was Gaga's buddy Marisa Tomei...)

Lady GaGa has apparently been taking surfing lessons during some time off in Mexico's Puerto Vallarta.
The confirmed MTV VMAs performer, who is reportedly taking a well-deserved break from promoting her new single You And I, is said to have hit the waves on a body-board, with sources claiming she is making "excellent progress."
Speaking to The Sun, a source revealed: "For a relative beginner she took to surfing really well."
"She started quite slowly learning how to body-board and then she was able to work up to standing - she made excellent progress."
They added: "She has been very relaxed since she arrived at the resort and is looking to unwind from her punishing timetable on the road."

Nice break down from Style Bistro...Mutt Lange? One of music's most revered and disliked people! Oh well, Gaga knows what she's doing...

I am unashamed to admit I have already watched the video for Lady Gaga‘s latest video, “You and I,” about 10 times. At six minutes and 22 seconds long, you can see that is quite a commitment.
It’s simply genius. Set to a country-feeling tune, the music video contains expertly curated sequences that play into both the lyrics, as well as Mother Monster’s real life exploits. On top of that, the fashion is incredible.
Kicking off with Gaga strutting down a Nebraska highway in platform stilettos, blood covering her ankles, I felt an immediate homage towards Shania Twain‘s “That Don’t Impress Me Much.” Twain’s video, though over 10 years old, has always been a huge fashion memory for me (remember the all-leopard hooded ensemble with matching hat box?). Interestingly, Shania’s ex-husband Mutt Lange actually produced “You and I.”
Then there are the movie references. In the first consideration, we welcome back Lady Gaga’s male alter-ego, Jo Calderone. The Danny Zuko-esque bad boy ends up making out with Gaga on and around the piano she is playing. Stand-in or post-production special effect? It’s done so well we can’t be sure.
Also, the location of the kissing scene is in a similar set to Kevin Costner’s Iowa farm from “Field of Dreams." Instead of the movie-mantra that turned Costner’s backyard into a magical trip to baseball’s past, “If you build it, they will come“, Gaga opted to stick “Follow the Crowd” on the Sweet Ice Cream truck that brings her down to her knees (look for it around 0:20).
We also see Gaga as a very fashionable Frankenstein, a very randy mermaid, back to her super-bleached locks/turquoise locks/et al, and much more. The costumes are incredibly detailed from head to toe, and really boost the beauty of each passing frame.

... and i thought i was the only one being shania's "that don't impress me much" etched on the memory.. haha.

As a guy, I remember every one of her "looks"!! :crush:

I was a little surprised to see Mutt had produced the video; he doesn't seem like Gaga's sort of guy and I honestly hadn't heard anything about him since that awful divorce... :( (Of course with Gaga, she may well have grown up worshiping him and always dreamed of working with him- a typical Gaga sort of situation!)

Thanks Anet & Boomer for the pics and articles. :flower:

Not only did Mutt co-produce the track but Brian May (Queen) is the one playing the electric guitar and the song samples Queen's 'We Will Rock You'. B)

One of LG's best performances of 'Yoü and I' imo :

People have been on Lady Gaga since 'Just Dance'... saying how she's going to be nothing but a "one hit wonder" and then with Paparazzi and Poker Face everyone said she will never be able to top herself, etc. Then Bad Romance happened and people again said she won't top herself, then Born This Way happened...

People will always be on Lady Gaga for daring to be different, but IMO, she doesn't need to "top herself" because as long as she continues to be different, she'll always be interesting at least.

There might come a day when I have to bite my words, but hey, that's Gaga.

^ She did really well! And I understand getting started in surfing is much harder than it looks!!

^ I agree. B)

Wow- Joss Stone (ummm, :unsure:oh yeah, Joss Stone...) is giving Gaga some advice on how to conduct her career today...I'm sure Gaga appreciates the help...

Joss Stone: Gaga's look overshadows her talent

Joss Stone has a message for Lady Gaga -- you don't need the wild costumes.
"I know the shock value is good and gets people to watch you, but actually [Gaga] can sing songs and she can play piano and it just feels like [her look] might overshadow what talent she does have," Stone, who's promoting her latest album "LP1," told CYInterview.

Stone, 24, attributes the need for Gaga, and other contemporary artists, to go "crazy" with their looks to the Queen of Pop -- Madonna.
"Madonna’s not the best singer in the world, but she was awesome with her entertainment and all of her shock tactics and stuff and that’s where it began. She then inspired all sorts of other girls to do that. But I don’t know, I just think music’s kind of important too," Stone said.
