i disagree, leighton (as blair, anyway - with the costuming, makeup, hair, etc) is much prettier than i pictured the character being in the books, especially since they always made blair seem so dull and almost dumpy next to serena, who i definitely always envisioned to be so much prettier than blake lively.

I still always liked Blair more in the books and I like her better on the show too. I actually pictured Blair to look more like Sophia Bush.

I think that Leighton is perfectly cast as Blair and looks the part very much so when she is made up for the show and is in character. In real life, she is much more average looking only because she doesn't get as dolled up and does not dress the same as Blair does.

For me that is Blake...I just think she is gorgeous. I have never read the books, so I had no preconcieved image of her in my mind...but I do think Blake is beautiful. (I much prefer her look to Leightons, but I have a thing for Blonde girls !! )

Lindsay would have been a terrible choice, Leighton-Blair is so regal and poised, a girl who flashes her bits at Cannes could never pull off regal and poised.

totally. As beautiful as someone might be (even if I'm not sure it's lindsay's case but anyone can have his opinion) being classy is something you have or you don't. Leighton has that classy cold attitude, lindsay would look vulgar in that kind of play. I'ts just a fact.
