I don't think anyone on this thread complains about Blake, honestly- the only problem here is Leighton's publicist.

I don't see why there's this backlash against Leighton now, because people complain about Blake's cover? Leighton's name might be mentioned, but it's hardly Leighton's fault Blake is ill qualified to be a cover girl.

Leighton isn't actively seeking the limelight right now- with good reason, because in all honesty Gossip Girl isn't that great of a show and even if Leighton got Vogue, i wouldn't have thought she deserved the cover either.

In fact, no one from Gossip Girl does.

Can we put an end to the back forth between Blake/Leighton?

I do think it's unfair Blake got the Vogue cover and Leighton didn't. Leighton's been acting for much longer and she's clearly the more talented actress of the two. Besides, the show may have started out with Blake as the star but it's pretty clear now that the show revolves around Blair/Chuck, hence Leighton being the star.

In addition, Leighton has actually done modeling work in the past. She shot a Ralph Lauren campaign with Bruce Webber and was signed to Wilhelmina Models.

I don't hate Blake at all, I just think her famous last name has helped her snag so much attention. But whatever, I'd rather see Leighton concentrate on her acting career than enjoy fifteen minutes of fame.

Absolutely. It's so much easier to hate "Vanessa" on GG. But it's not like she doesn't have a great unique Brooklyn style on set...

but i just dont see how blake has the quality of being an IT girl and be on the cover on vouge...

i just hope Leighton gets a better publicist, and i'm sure she'll get her chance to shine after Gossip Girl (which btw is becoming so badly written) with actual GOOD roles, and serious movie parts.

fingers crossed! I want her to be taken seriously as an actress, because she's both beautiful and talented. Clearly the star of Gossip Girl as it is, but i'm sure she'll get a chance to move on to bigger and better things while Blake gets the limelight for now (cough*mischabarton*cough)

^^ All this talk about Leighton needing a new publicist is annoying. She has a good one that also represents Maggie Gyllenhaal and Charlize Theron. Leighton can be taken as a serious actress if she just continues to concentrates on her acting and not how many covers she gets on. The mark of a true star is longevity. I don't think anyone would want to see Leighton crash and burn being too overexposed. Also lets not forget Leighton has gone to a few events and parties herself.

from the way her publicist has managed the sebastian engagement rumors/ the born in jail scandal/ or the on set fighting rumors...

i can't see that she's done a particularly good job.

Penn/Blake/even Chase Crawford have gotten decent movie roles over the summer, Leighton has had zilch.

to me, her publicist or management hasn't been doing a good job.

and this is judging from both a publicity/media exposure as well as a professional level.
