I love that outfit. It seems so Blair to start wearing hats after getting engaged to royalty.

Except Blair is supposed to be a royalty nerd, so she would know royals only wear hats on certain ocassions, not every freaking day. Which once again proves how utterly ignorant and uneducated Eric Damen is. Or that he's unwilling to do even the basic research.

Also, I think it is beyond stupid that he's having her emulate the Duchess of Cambridge. The DoC has great style, but why would old money, high society-established, lux label wearing Blair Waldorf take to emulating someone who is new money, high street label wearing (pre-marriage, but still sometimes currently), and from a family not yet established in the "older" circles. It's dumb and ill-logical on so many levels. (Not to mention, as per the show and Eric Damen interviews from previous seasons: Blair is already supposed to have her OWN style. Blair from seasons 1-3 would never emulate the Duchess.)

Boo at waiting another year for her movie: http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/mov...the-oranges-leighton-meester-hugh-laurie.html

in the mean time, more great reviews:

As for Blair's wardrobe... Why wouldn't Blair be inspired by the Duchess? She's idealistic and dreamy. Whenever she finds a new role to be, she needs to look the part. Some things are truly ugly and unflattering, but I think people take clothes too seriously, like it has to be realistic. They too tell a story.

Kate might be the new It Girl, but she isn't the first commoner to marry into royalty, nor is her style considered all that. There's Grace Kelly and the Duchess of Windsor, both bona-fied style icons--in every sense of the word. Then, there is actual royalty. Charlotte Casiraghi isn't royal, but she has more royal blood running through her veins than Kate does--and has always been considered quite fashionable. If Blair was going to emulate royalty, it's more likely she emulate Grace, Wallis or Charlotte and not Kate Middleton, whose background is practically the English version of Brooklyn, if one thinks how Blair thinks in terms of high society and who fits in and who doesn't.

And as for "looking the part," Kate Middleton doesn't wear Erdem dresses with fascinators every single day. If Blair is so set on on looking the part, she needs to check out the Kate topic here (or any of the royal topics), where the Duchess is often photographed in jeans, sweaters and boots. Right now, Blair just looks like a caricature of not just herself, but her idea of royalty.

Eric Damen is once again showing his fashion ignorance. It amuses me. But I will call him out on it.

She looks fab. I don't really like the shoes but they go perfect with the rest of the outfit.

Love the shoes! They work really well with the gorgeous dress. I'm always excited for her looks!
