its one of those ambiguous outfits - sitting somewhere between awesome! and trashy - but the shoes in this case tipped it over to trashy. (the shoes scream las vegas fake futuristic cowgirl)

and the wierd flap on the shoes reminded of dodgy casinos..

i mean it would be a good outfit (fab dress!) but the shoes and wierd makeup throws it all off.

To add insult to injury regarding those shoes -- they aren't just hideous, they also shorten her legs a great deal. Love the dress & the clutch though.

Leighton's event style is a hit/miss for me. Sometimes i completely love it, and others all i can say is 'what was she thinking?'. It's not a bad thing, because it shows that she takes risks and is willing to give a try to most of the stuff out there.
The one thing i liked about last night's outfit was the dress. The hair, make-up and shoes were terrible all together.

I couldn't agree more! I liked the dress too, and everything else was just terribly wrong. The hair was too messy and too much, the same goes for the eye makeup. The shoes are just plain butt ugly. The dress is cute and that's pretty much it.
