Louis Vuitton S/S 06 Paris

(style.com) this brown coat was the only think i liked from this collection from what ive seen here - will have to check the rest out..... and whats with the shiny (lurex?) coats this season?? luella did them too... and someone i cant think of now. luella are the only ones that manages to make it look a little chic, everywhere else: prostie chic anyone?

Ughh!! Marc went in too many different directions to call this a collection. I can't even focus, it looks like a rainbow threw up on the runway.

you cannot get any more disgusting or vulgar than a murakami bag with multicoloured suede fringe trim.

How true!! I find Murakami to be bad enough, but that looks like something a kid made and stuck on the side:sick:

Im not liking this collection at all!

I really love the use of browns and oranges, and a few of the skirts are quite unique. I'm middle of the road on this one.

absolutely terrible... although i can see the last dress posted with the white and mirror-like things on it popping up in all the mags.... but that doesnt make the collection any better than horrible

The most successful pieces, and there are some, are the ones that fuse the oversexed, look at me aspect of Versace's aesthetic (wouldn't it have been better to focus on his cutting skills, his construction???) with the dowdy, live and let live approach of Marc's own line. There's something quite awkward to the fusion that looks approachable, alive, modern for some reason. It isn't a slam dunk but there are looks here and there that are just plain fresh. Beautiful color combinations, love the different colors to the silk linings of the paneled skirt

Why does Marc Jacobs have to make a statement at the expense of Louis Vuitton? He can do that with his own label. With Vuitton, he literally went from top-notch (AW05) to bottom of the barrell (this!!). Such terrible oscilliations.

This collection is really awful. :( I was looking to gorgeous new little bags and beautiful coats and dresses.

I personally love this collection...after a sombre season last fall, this is truly excessive, young, 80s Versace-esque decorative and somewhat tackily delicious...I'm not in love with the bags like previous seasons but really enjoy the clothes, especially the coats and suits

My fav (all pics from Style.com)

it got a good review from style.com...... and u can kinda c what they are talking about in his new direction but still some of the stuff is beyond tacky
hmmm im undecided:(

Great shoes, ugly bags as usual.
The clothes? who cares? like Dior nobody buys LV's clothes.

I always thought Marc Jacobs in general is a bit overrated as a designer... more PR rather than substance... more styling rather than design (especially his personal lines). I liked last season's LV but it seems that he can't follow up...
