Louis Vuitton S/S 10 Paris

Despite the afros there were maybe 3 or 4 models of color on the runway? Really, Marc?
The last truly exciting collection of that Marc sent out was maybe Fall 06/07 for both MJ and LV...one big descent into mediocrity since then. I think that someone else needs to take the reins at LV and Mark needs to go back to designing downtown chic clothes for his own line

I can't even begin to discuss the raccoon tails.

Drunk

WHAT were Marc and the team of people he has around him THINKING when they let those shoes be created?!?!?!?!?! I really don't understand!

Probably they had far too much to drink and this was a result of a train-wrecked design team

I'm so distracted by everything else to pay any attention to the actual clothes, so just... No thank you :(

same here. after i scrowlled througs whole thread i realised that i cant remember what any of the clothes look like....but i can remember what the fro's looked like

It's not just the hair that's terrible. Most of the clothes are awful too and the shoes are absolutely horrible. eww

This is kind of random, but while I watched this show the only thing my mind kept on referring back to was this:

Hulu.com

It's gilly hahaha, Kristen Wigg's character from SNL. Isn't that sad that this collection takes me back to this. Who knows maybe Marc took some inspiration from this. I mean to come up with this horrid concept, I doubt there was a seriously legit source of inspiration.

Ugh, I don't know about the rest of you but this season was just sooo BAD!... And LV just failed to impress (in a positive way) with this spring collection.

Always I have liked LV collections, but now, I don't like ANY look, It a bit messy.

the shoes!!!!what the hell are they??
It looks more like an Anna Sui collection....even House of Holland is better than this horrible collection:sick:

athough the SS09 collection is great,i've never been a fan of Marc Jacobs, maybe ever.
is he really try to update the defination of ugly?
the shoes must be the ugliest i have ever seen.
so disgusting!

it's definitely something but i like the clothes!

Wow. This collection is so profound...

I know Marc likes to have fun with his shows but sometimes I wonder how this man has the nerve to present such a tacky collection.

Louis Vuitton's sales OBVIOUSLY went down last season, which isnt surprising since those looks from Fall 2009 looked terrible on just about everyone....ahem....Madonna. So this season they went for the most generic looks ever, added an afro to distract everyone from how boring the clothes are and a few fanny packs (which in my opinion can NEVER look fashionable under ANY circumstance) and plastered their monogram everywhere (cuz nothing sells better than people's insecurities).
Pretty low if you ask me. In fact it's just rubbish.

i don't know where this news has come from but louis vuitton has floated the entire lvmh group through this financial debacle the world has gone through lately. while you may have thought their latest collection rubbish, the sort of super high-end fare he sent out actually sold at about the same rate it did one year prior. it's the recession that accounts for their lack of sales growth, not the lack of creativity nor the covetable-ness of those designs....

now, with respect to this collection, marc jacobs remains genius. he's picked up the baton from miuccia prada last season and delivered to the fashion world the complete antithesis of the "it shoe" almost showing us the idiocy of the entire notion. let's break down the collection: the clothes, on their own, remain easy sells. just like his spring and fall collections, they're gigantic statement pieces that entry level luxury shoppers can purchase and wear with EVERYTHING -- a vuitton jacket spices up everything from a tee shirt and jeans to smart business separates to microminis at night. second, the bags are exactly what louis vuitton has always put out: great somewhat hard-to-copy bags for the conspicuous consumer to match with the clothes she buys from other high end lines. and the shoes? at his eponymous line he made the brave move of making FLATS the statement shoe and here he's taken the most ugly creations he could think of -- i mean the wading boot was taken -- and made them something completely cerebral. if we would've seen these shoes at commes, tao, junya, yohji, undercover, or any other of that ilk, we would've heard the stalwarts of this forum singing their praises, but because it's marc, they're decried.

the biggest flaw in this show came in the styling. i love what marc tried to do, but he didn't quite pull off the same witty trick he did with his own line, but it doesn't take away from the fact that this stuff is going to be everywhere next season.

For every perfect collection he does he follows it with 2-3 F*** up ones till he does another stellar one. Marc needs to be like JPG , leave the antics for his own line but make some nice cool clothes for the LVMH line. The clothes look halloween costumes or something

I see some good pieces among the eye-rubble, but I wish he'd just tone down on the craziness a little!
