Luminous, Glowy and Healthy Skin

I tried Angels On Bare Skin and didn't it but I'm a new found lover of Lush products, I find that you notice a change in your skin alot sooner then when you use commerical products.

My question is how do people like Kate Moss get away with much partying and emerge at 5am looking fresh, whilst I.do.not. Is it their bone structure or is it their skin...?

^ It's money...lol

Using alot of money for skin treatments...

^ A lot of celebrities get laser resurfacing where it takes off the top layer of the skin...it takes 2 months to heal....

for me, there's no person i've ever seen with such absurdly RADIANT, LUMINOUS and GLOWING skin as Iman! (basically i think she's probably the most well-kept woman on earth).

and she's how old??? (*she'll be 52 in July*)

whatever the hell she does to keep her skin that way --- I WANNA KNOW!

Iman has a skincare book out...maybe you could try some of the things she suggests. She does look fabulous, every time I see her I think she must only be in her 30s.

it's true that the way 60 years old celebs look is the way "some" 30 years old people look. The secret tons of money spend on facials and skincare products, loads of free time to groom yourself, loads of photoshop and loads of plastic surgery. Voila....

^ Iman was on Oprah and revealed some of her "secrets" (source: oprah.com). Unfortunately, they aren't too helpful!

Defy Your Age

How do ageless beauties like Iman and Victoria Principal stay looking so great? A little discipline, a lot of love and a thriving spirit helps them embrace their ages—and look good doing it!

Iman's Mantra
Iman credits having a child at age 44 with keeping her young and in shape. Talk about inspiring! But what else?

Being in love and being accepted for who you are, says Iman. In that, you will find security.

Iman's husband David Bowie suggested boxing. It doesn't have to be expensive, and the non-stop activity is great for losing weight.

Every day after work, Iman walks 30 blocks home. It's a nice way to pass the time, and a great way to stay in shape!

From Elle Canada:

EC: Would you say you're high maintenance -- a mani and a pedi every week?
I:
"Well, I wouldn't say that's high maintenance! Yes, weekly manicures and pedicures, deep-tissue massages every two weeks, a facial every two months, pilates, a bit of running. I just turned 50!"

I ALWAYS am getting compliments on my skin even from strangers so I think I should tell people what I do :) I drink water but I do not exercise so it is probably not from that

In the morning and in the night I put on a little of clé de peau's émulsion protectrice fraîche...you do not need that much. It is very light and it smells very good. Yes it is expensive...I thought so too before I bought it but I think that it is worth it now!

I also use Bioré's daily deep pore cleansing cloths in the morning, in the night, and when ever I get out of the shower.

That is all I do! I have sun screen but I never use it :( I know I should though, so yes I reccomend sun screen too.

I cant remember the last time my skin didn't look dull. I hate it.

My skin care regime...

- I try to live as healthily as possible. Doesn't always happen, but I notice that when I get lots of good rest, eat well, my skin reflects that.

- Love Murad Clarifying Cleanser. It truly is the only cleanser I've tried that has made a positive impact on my skin. Oh great, I sound like an infomercial. But it works for me, which makes me happy! When I don't use it, it shows.

- Love Neutrogena Dry Touch Sunscreen... looks non-oily but I wear it under my makeup which gives a nice little glow.

- As for makeup that doesn't hide skin's "glowiness" or radiance, I like Stila. It really brings out the good qualities in my skin while hiding imperfections (there goes the infomercial-sounding comments agin, ha). Stila Illuminating Powder Foundation looks completely natural but gives my skin a nice sheen to it, very glowy. I looove Stila Sun (bronzer)... gives me a nice sun-kissed glow. Very natural and not at all ruddy on me.

I feel strange writing all of this because I feel like I'm writing an infomercial script, ha. But yeah, I get compliments on my skin when I do these things. :) As odd as it sounds, I think the makeup helps especially...

Kate Moss hasn't looked 'fresh' in years. Look at some of her HQs. But, yes, in general celebs can afford to lhave better skin. It's not through more expensive skincare products (which by and large have been scientifically proven to do absolutely nothing), but through semi-surgical treatments like botox, lasers, fillers, light therapy, fat grafting. These treatments can have a dramatic effect on the appearance of skin.

Very true about the treatments, but I do feel like they only get one so far. Eventually, all of the drinking, smoking, and partying that some celebs do will catch up with them and sap the life out of their skin regardless of the latest beauty trends. No one is immune to aging. You can just delay the inevitable.

I was wondering if their were any products out there that can help even out your skin tone and get rid of red spots from acne?

^ I found that (a) flaxseed oil off the spoon (b) water water water and (c) AHAs helped my skin look more even-toned and helped fade some scars. However, if you've never used AHAs before, you might want to start with a very gentle concentration (I use 15% but I started on 10 and I thought that was quite strong). :)

I highly recommend Chanel's new foundation "Teint Innocence" for a healthy, natural, radiant glow.

I've been trying a tester for a week, and I cannot rave on enough about how radiant it has made my skin look, even on the worst of days.

I just apply it on top of my moisturiser, and it makes me look like I've caught 12 hrs of shut-eye.

It is simply the most satisfactory foundation I've ever tried on, and certainly the best from Chanel. It's quite long-lasting and non-oily, so at the end of the day, it looks the same as it did in the morning.

It def. receives a 5-star from me. I would recommend it to everyone who wants an easy, natural foundation with a beautiful glow. For reference, I am NC25-30 combination skin, and I match #20 clair.

I'm really curious about this new product from Neutrogena, their Illuminating Whip Moisturizer.
It looks really nice...plus it has SPF 20.

Anyone tried it?
