Libby T. is having a great NYFW. Leila Goldkuhl is in NYC but hasn't popped up yet. Hoping Cara T. books CK tomorrow but who knows. Waleska has also popped up at a few shows.

totally, she has great taste in models. I just don't understand her crush on Sunday Rose... Some nepotism girls really work because they look like models and they would be models without their parents too. But Sunday Rose?

Nepo babies like Sunday Rose are casted for the sole purpose of being rage bait. I highly doubt Brokaw’s “crush” on her has anything to do with her talent (or lack there of) as a model, and is instead a strategic move. Casting directors hold a lot of power, but it’s still the client that has the final say on which models get to walk for them. And many brands will say yes when a CD proposes casting nepo babies because it starts conversations within the zeitgeist which results in the brand getting more attention. If anything, it kinda reiterates how smart brokaw is as a business women imo. But the ethics of it should definitely be called into question since it’s allowing a child to get bullied on the internet.

Would love to understand what are considered to be the "top" or "A tier" shows for a model to walk in each city? Or is it entirely subjective? Are there certain shows that if a model walks they're immediately elevated to a new level?

Definitely not Armani and Erdem. I think everyones opinion is different on this, but I think modeling agents decide whether they let their model walk a show dependent on who is the stylist and casting director. I saw a lot of top girls walked 7 For All Mankind in NYC which of course is not a high end luxury brand but Piergiorgio Del Moro casted it and the stylist was Marie Chaix who also styled Calvin Klein and I think she styles many shows in Paris too and works with a lot of fashion magazines so it is still considered a show to walk for the top girls. Jacqui Hooper opened that show

Tory Burch seems to be top tier in NYC, Ralph Lauren too.

Seeing Nyawurh glide back into FW so effortlessly has been a real joy. I really missed her and she brings a magnetism to each show .

Beyond that there have been some nice surprises in NY thus far. Namely seeing Sacha Quenby back in the top-tier shows where she belongs. Her Swedish namesake also looks great after her season off, but she has enough support here already .

At the end of last season I was most intrigued by the girls who debuted at Balenciaga. Yes Ashley had Audrey, Saar and Laura Kaiser (guess she'll be a Dior exclusive this season), but I was intrigued by some of PG's propositions like Myriam, Fama, Like Polak and Saga Nyholm, who has a bit of a Meghan Collison vibe going on. Out of those girls only Myriam has appeared in NY (and is doing really well), so I'm keeping my eyes out for the others in Europe.

But omg that cast was AMAZING! Best cast of NYFW for sure.

I love her a lot since her Balenciaga days, but she doesn’t need to do everything now. It’s too much and all one note at this point, no longer fresh! She can’t balance all these clients, except Miu Miu with Lotta’s voice in it. All the top shows in each city are now hers, even new Versace I bet!

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I kind of miss PD for some diversity’s sake.

Saying Ashley's casting is one note is crazy when PG literally copy-pastes all his lineups from one show to another and that's not hard to tell when he basically casts all the shows in Milan and Paris

She may have had questionable casting choices over the years but as long as she stays doing Prada and Vuitton she'll stay as the most powerful casting director in the scene. The most iconic models from the past 10-15 years were all pushed and curated by her.
