Model Casting S/S 11

There was a general latin and romantic undertone to the whole collection. I have never seen Tati Cotliar as a Prada girl but I saw that she fit this collection quite well. I see that girls with quite strong facial structure seem to have made the cut (ergo Mariacarla and Freja). I was indeed missing both Kirsi and Liu at the show.
On the Asian model remark above, I actually could have seen Liu Wen at the show as she is quite versatile but I guess that's why we didn't see Shu Pei who has walked Prada before.

It was an overall good cast. I really enjoyed seeing Melodie Melrose there as well as the return of Jourdan Dunn. Hopefully Melodie is not a token ethnic girl like so many others though.

I wonder if someone will eventually get tired of seeing Monica Jagaciak in every single show?

I'm generally tired of showlists including 25 runway bookings per town. It's makes the particular girls look like high profile fillers and their careers lack excitement i think. Quite different from girls like Daphne G /Kirsi P - who both bring magic and some great suprises along with doing only a very few shows per town/editorials during the print season so far. I know they're both very new, but i rather follow them than a "full force" girl like Lisanne de Jong.

Well, Lisanne isn't doing much else than runway, so she needs to walk as much as possible to afford her bread and butter.

You couldn't say it better. This is exactly what I mean with intelligent model management. It becomes more exciting when they really keep their girls for special shows mixed with selected editorial work. It makes them spark more.

I'd also add Carla Gebhart to that list.

Mariacarla, Marija and Diana were amazing at Prada! It was really awkward seeing that girl that walked after MCB...it was like David vs. Goliath except Goliath won
Is Arizona a Prada exclusive by the way? Or has she walked more already in Milan?

And can I just say that I am so happy to finally see some A-list casts. SO very welcome!

Gucci gets a big thumbs up for casting Black / Afro-Latina models, but I have to admit that it was a bit of a letdown to not see any Asian models (other than Chanel Iman). I am not trying to make an issue out of a single show in a single season, but for me personally, the absence of even one obviously East or South Asian face tempers my celebration with reckless abandon of the Black / Afro-Latina model breakthrough.

Why is Dany Di' Jesus not booking big shows?
Faith_Akiyama.

She deserves a Givenchy exclusivity in Paris.

lol did anybody else see the versace cast?
squizree is just gonna die:p

here. mostly girls that 4-5 years ago would be considered the antitheses of Versace but not anymore it seems.

That's way too many girls, unless they're doing one girl per look thing which never happens at Versace. Amazing selection of girls nonetheless ^_^

I never really trust these preliminary boards but I do see most of those girls showing up. On the corner I actually see Eliza but I'm guessing this is only a casting board. Ayways, pretty excited to see the results!

exactly, so please you guys dont go posting it all over the girls threads.

Oh my :sick: Well that's not exciting at all, I was really hoping for Versace to jump on the bandwagon of the "sexy" girl back in fashion, but that's just not going to happen. I mean seriously Lindsey Wixson, Gianni is rolling around in his grave somewhere . . .

At least Joan will look great haha

Once again Versace is going to have an underwhelming cast.

I have nothing against Wixson. In fact, I really like her, but she has no business being at Versace. Does anybody care about having the 'right look' anymore?

Another TERRIBLE casting for Versace
Seriously Donatella needs to stop that
Those models have nothing to do with Versace:they're NOT sexy,NOT confident, they don't have any kind of strong personality or strong look on the runway...this is pratically rubbish
Then I don't wanna hear Versace staff complaining about selling raising down this year also

Well, you have to remember that Erin O'Connor and Karen Elson were used in the sexy Versace days ..... not quite what you would associate with the normal Versace sexy, but it worked.

I think Lindsey Wixson has a place there. Something about her works for Versace. I do agree it's way too many models - over 40 ! It would only make sense if it was one exit per model, but usually Versace does not go that way. Who knows. I wonder what the blue circles on some of the pictures mean ?
