Model Casting S/S 11

Agree, about Pucci, but let's not forget MaxMara! That was one great cast! Who did that cast?

Pucci casting was just dreamy!
Definitely the best alongside Ferrè!
I'm so happy those 2 fashion monsters Sophie Srej and Valerija were cut out from all the most important show!

Valerija keeps the game low profile this season just as Kirsi and Iris Strubegger. Not really in dire need to turn up at every show they receive requests for, i think.

Elite's loveliness Lisanne de Jong seems to have quite a bad time in Milan. And Julija Steponaviciute & Ilvie Wittek as well.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who finds Valerija quite awful :ninja: Her walk is terrible and she scares me.

I agree that the casting at Pucci was great! Perfect choice of models for every single outfit. Loved it.

lol the comments about the Versace casting on YouTube are probably more vicious than the comments in this thread. It's gotten to the point where I am no longer caring.

Was anyone else thrown for a loop over the casting at Jil? I usually think of Jil Sander models as being very sleek and angular but models like Maddie, Vika, and Martha seem so cutesy for the brand.

Rather weird cast indeed, especially compared to last season when it was absolutely amazing (for reference).

L
lindsay ellingston? the fundamental of sexiness
lol Lindsey is sexy in like a doe-eyed school girl, innocent kinda way.

The Dolce cast sounds exciting! Any show with Ale in the cast is bound to be amazing

Pucci had a great cast minus about three girls.

And I agree, Valerija is a bit scary, and her ears make me laugh they're so big haha. But she's at least interesting looking unlike a lot of these other girls booking shows. Even if it's because she looks kinda dirty and homeless. :innocent:

I hope this is the right thread for expressing my thoughts on the casting this season but I'm wondering why the likes of Sasha and Natasha aren't walking in a lot of shows this fashion week. I'm wondering if it's by choice on their part or they're just not being sought after this season.

Maybe it's just me but I'm stuck up on these girls and I miss seeing them on the runway. Heck, by the time I've grown to love Raquel and Lily Donaldson, they also stopped doing a lot of runway shows. :(

Just venting this cause I really prefer seeing these models on the catwalk just as much as seeing them on print.

Dolce and Gabbana (maybe just a preliminary board)

^ I would think is most likely to be the final list. But I can't help wondering what the difference in this model list is to the D&G one. Is it just safe to say every season that whoever was at D&G will be at Dolce & Gabbana?

they already got the money. unless they are going for free stuff from NY shows
.....

So basicly every model minus Lindsay Wixon does Dolce and Gabana.

^^ I don't think it's money per se but more of other factors such as connections and rates.

I would like to think that Sasha and Natasha has been selective on the shows they walk on instead of casting directors passing them on. At any rate, I don't think we'll know what really is the reason behind their few shows this season.

I would just like to know how much money did DolceGabbana spend on having all those girls walk for them. Not only did they have an army but some of the absolute best girls (who still do shows) walked for them, which couldn't have been cheap. Or do these big houses get away with paying very little for girls since it's so 'prestigious' to walk for them? Still, a lot of those girls walking don't need the "walked for Dolce" on their resume anymore, so what else is there in it for them?

There's no doubt they had the biggest casting budget this season. That show probably cost a fortune.

Dolce would've been better with some KK, Isabeli and Bianca instead of say Egle, Mount, Irina K, Freja, etc.

Missoni had such a fabulous cast. Strong, individual girls that worked together as a group; girls of the moment with seasoned stars of the brand. Perfection.

I really think Milan has not been very friendly to non-caucasian models this season. (I only included major shows)

Liu Wen
Bottega Veneta
D&G

Fei Fei
Missoni

Ming Xi
Francesco Scognamiglio
Max Mara

Shu Pei
Alberta Ferretti
Sportmax
Etro
Bottega Veneta
Just Cavalli

Rose Codero and Tao Okamato didn't book anything worth to mention so far. Especially shocking for Rose who was at Jil Sander/Prada/Pucci/Marni last season.
