I agree with this. Versace is not Valentino or Oscar de la Renta where the client base aged with the designer and let's face it, most women who've remained hard-core Versace wearers past the age of 45, including Donatella herself, are the mutton dressed as lamb types anyway,* so this was not a label in need of a massive youth infusion... I mean who are they trying to appeal to, the Disney Channel set? I can definitely see the brand wanting to be relevant with the Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Kristen Stewart demographic but I don't think that that means swapping out several experienced walkers (most of whom are in their early twenties, not Janice Dickinson types) with unseasoned and awkward seventeen year olds. My point is not about model loyalty, it is about the incongruence of the sexy-glam clothes and the faces, walks and demeanor of some of the models. That is not to say that there are absolute rules here, Jac is young but she looks the part of the Versace woman and ironically there were experienced models cast who had bad walks. I dunno, is Kristen Stewart a popular muse amongst the top fashion designers? If I visited some of these designers' studios, will her pictures be tacked on their inspiration boards?

* I am not saying that Versace does not produce clothes that someone over-45 can't rock if she is selective about what she chooses, the key here is being a hard-core wearer of Versace clothes.

I don't understand why "trying to appeal to younger clients" have to mean casting 16 year olds. Yeah, because 18-20 year olds are just so ancient they have no business in modeling. Really, we're not talking about a 10-20 year old difference here. Even the established girls like Natasha, Snejana, Magda, etc are all extremely young women. Will their presence on the runway really turn off 'younger clients'? Same with Valentino these last couple years. I just don't understand that.

That's probably the most annoying thing about the latest model casting...seems like only 16 years old girls have the chance to do something big...
I was just thinking how cool would have been to see Marija or Karolina for Versace(just remember she was one of the icon of the early 2000's Versace and Gianni collections)??
But no one can work a sexy long tight dress like Lindsay or Kinga no?

For me is sexy: confident woman with I prefer curves, not young girls. Jac is the only exception for me to. She could sell sexy and sexy clothes.
Daphne is sensual also with that big lips, but for me it doesn't work not because she is only 15 but mostly a very beautiful but cute girl. But if Daphne walks, only Roberto Cavalli and maybe Giorgio Armani and she made it to all the big shows. Would be huge.

But i'm curious about the cast. Some of the VSangels probs?

Was anyone else thrown for a loop over the casting at Jil? I usually think of Jil Sander models as being very sleek and angular but models like Maddie, Vika, and Martha seem so cutesy for the brand.

And Kasia Wrobel opening was also surprising.
