they're basically a joke Tilda wasn't really meant to be a Rodarte exclusive, it's just a matter of coincidence.

I don't really see any great influence made by the Victoria's Secret girls on New York's castings.

One thing I've noticed is that agencies aren't making there new girls seem so exclusive, like, I've seen many girls walk for very respectable clients that would look great on their runway resume and then I see their name on a showlist for a really crappy show.

Perhaps I formulated by post a bit wrong. I didn't necessarily mean the angels but generally more commercial girls are being casted this season. There are a lot more pretty pretty girls that are casted than edgy pretty.

I mean, I expected Julia Nobis, Kirby Kenny, Dafne Cejas, Jenny Sinkaberg, Tati Cotliar, Naomi Preizler and even Melissa Tammerijn to be a lot more places than I thought. In my eyes, they represent those girls with a unique look away from the bland regular faces and I guess they are a lot more Europe so I feel we'll see them a lot more there.

I have also noticed that this season is a lot more diverse and that is indeed a positive but then again, it is also Spring Summer. Lots of the girls that did well last SS season are doing well this season. Be it body or look, it seems quite often to be like that. I'm very excited to see how London and Paris books girls. Milan tends to be as always a bit more on the sexy, commercial side although bookings at Versace really intrigued me these last seasons.

Actually I enjoyed Narciso and Rodarte casts. NR had a very concise cast and had a nice surprise (Jamie!). Very a la CK.

Rodarte had a very solid cast with a nice newbies selection and a nice inclusion of established models like Anja and Karolina. Pretty decent and interesting. It's such a shame that girls who did Vera for her so called anniversary collection had to sacrifice Rodarte.

I so agree NY has displaying more commercial girls instead of edgy girls, which is a shame because so far it has favored really uninteresting models. I also can't wait for the European casts, now those sound interesting. I hope they save us from this boring state NY has been this few days.

To me New York is New York and is mostly about sportswear, commercialism, energy and at times swagger. Furthermore and more importantly, when it comes to model casting and other matters, I like when designers think for themselves, presumably based on their market and personal tastes rather than letting Miuccia Prada, Ricardo Tisci and Steven Meisel do their thinking for them.

Having said that, I don't see this season's in-demand models as blander than other recent seasons. Yes I have been disappointed because I have favorites who are absent or not booking stuff left and right, but the upside has definitely been the diversity in models, seeing for the most part clothes being presented well, shows not dominated by trainwreck walkers (that does not mean that every model in every show has had a good walk) or show casts dominated by what appears to be little girl mutants playing dress up.

I do think that there is diversity of looks in the SS 2011 models, Lindsey Wixon and Freja are two examples of in-demand models who don't fit into the pretty-pretty mold.

Feel so bad for Vlada this season. Seems like her career is coming to a complete stop. She always did a lot of shows which meant she did some great and some not so great ones. This season, she pretty much did only the not so great ones. No Michael Kors, no Marc Jacobs, no Carolina H, etc.

NY sucked...the casting sucked, the clothes sucked..Everything sooo underwhelming.....u know the world is coming to an end, when Vlada isn't booking her typical 20+ shows.

Totally agree! Their casting sucked. Personally, I really thought there were too many new girls. Plus, no magda there either

Disagree. Her look on the runway is very nice. She is really pretty and looks good. Every season she does a good job in all city's.
Her editorialwork improves but it's not yet exciting.

Gwen Loos dissapoint me huge. I'm still hoping that Ymre comes up, at least in Europe. Dafne i wouldn't mind not to see her. But i think she could be a givenchy exclusive.

Gottex was nice, i'm sorry but i don't really see why Bregje is curvy? Her appeal fits the show in my opinion. Marloes Horst wouldn't be a misfit in this show.

I liked Proenza's cast. I think most of the girls fit the collection well.
But also dissapointed Magda wasn't there... they titled her as their fave!!!
