Models Who Aren't That Tall

I also met lily donaldson. She is not very tall. maybe 5.9? She is a teeny girl in person.

lara stone has been modeling for 4 years or so. i think her height listing changed since she has gorwn. i have met her, hung out briefly with her--she is defineitely about 5.10 or so. she is not short.

Other people who have met her said she was only about 5'8". But I never agreed with that, because her legs look quite long. Her agencies only list her as 5'9"...

If she was really 5'10", they wouldn't lie I don't think. Agencies love to bump girls up to 5'10" or down to 5'11" if they're too tall.

I am nearly 6ft. i was standingh next to her, as was my friend who is about 5.8. She was just under me. Personally I think half the stats out there are old, and/or incorrect conversion shaved off an inch. She started modeling in at about 17--so she probably grew.

She started out at 17, but she just switched to IMG like a year ago, and she's 23 - who lists her as 5'9"

Found this while looking at LA Models Agency.

You'd think they'd bump her up of something...

I noticed they have a lot of models on the shorter side (5'8" - 5'2") even though their minimum requirement is 5'9". I know there are always exceptions, but they seem to be making a lot of them.

a few people have told me i could model if not for my height (5 foot!)
apparently they think i have a unique face.
is it possible for people to do this without having to do runway?
i mean i know some girls just model for face, or hands, or feet,
but is it very common for a girl to ONLY do those things?

I'm signing at the end of the summer with Elite... And I'm 5'1'' so I'll just be doing print work etc. She wanted me to do commercials, but I'm not much for acting I don't think! Anyway yes you can model at a shorter height, you just can't do FASHION modeling. With luck, I may be the new face of Tampax, but you won't see me with anything including the words Prada, Chanel, Burberry, etc... But the money's still good!:p

Well LA is a whole different market, I suppose they can afford to make more than a few exceptions. But 5'2" does seem a tad much.

And Im assuming they're a lot younger than you realize. 15 and younger Im sure. Yes, LA is a TOTALLY different market. There is actually work there for younger, shorter teens.

It really is all about the market...

- LA is great for sportier looking, more all American types
- NY is high fashion editorial
- Miami is perfect for hardbodied sexy types
- Chicago is probably the capital of catalog commercial modeling

While high fashion modeling is what most girls think about, I would be totally happy doing catalog gigs... they get paid like nobody's business.

Back on topic- I think Lara looks like a solid 5'9. Its easy to think people are taller than they are. I convinced the DMV I was 5'9, after all... :innocent:

Found on IMG website. Not too sure if she was mentioned in this thread yet.
Audrey Twitchell - 5'6"

Something funny here. IMG just bumped Sasha Pivovarova up to 5'9".
She grew .5" in a day!! I wonder how she did it!
