Monange Dream Fashion Tour 2011

They took Ale and Adriana off the Monange site. I guess that's that!

Aw :( Monange was dumb having hired them without anyone checking with VS to see if it was ok lol!

The organization Monange Dream Fashion Tour was prohibited from using angel wings, feather and down, props characteristic of Victoria's Secret Fashion Show , parades scheduled in Brazil. The determination of the 6th Civil Chamber of the Court of Rio provides a daily fine of $ 50,000 and upheld an injunction of the 5th Company of the Capital District.

A spokesperson for the Monange Dream Fashion Tour said the company will accept the decision and will remove the props, feathers and wings of the parade. The event program will continue unchanged, in Belo Horizonte (June 18), Fortaleza (July 2), Bethlehem (July 28), Recife (August 13), Victoria (August 20) and Sao Paulo (September 3 ). Some of the top Brazilian models like Ana Beatriz Barros, Ana Claudia Michels and Izabel Goulart, attend the event, which has the soundtrack of the Initial Capital.

Rapporteur of the case, Judge Peter Raguenete, wrote that "unlike the aggravating affirmed by both parties sell cosmetics, thus having the possibility of characterization of unfair competition." Monange The Dream Fashion Tour is organized by the Mega Model in partnership with Globo and sponsored by Monange, all defendants in the action for unfair competition brought by Victoria's Secret.

So they did actually sue Monange! No wonder they pulled Ale & Adri from the show.

So does VS sell cosmetics in Brazil or elsewhere where they go head-to-head with Monange?

I don't think so. VS is slowly opening up some international shops - here in Europe, and I think I read there was one at a Brazilian airport (Sao Paulo, maybe?). But not really, retail wise.

^ If VS has an airport shop then that is enough, I've heard / read that some airport shops do great business, although I doubt if one store would be a great contributor to VS' overall bottom line. I know about their European expansion, but I wonder VS is also planning on expanding in Brazil in the not too distant future.

I understand VS completely... Though I find it surreal they come to this conclusion 2 years after Monange presented the format of the show

does anyone else have trouble viewing www.facebook.com/MDFTour

I can't ever get to that page through my facebook, it always redirects me to my homepage
but I wanted to see it because I know they have more pictures of the show and backstage

I can't open it either :( ... I tried from at least five different facebooks & it doesn't work, i think it only works in Brasil because everyone from other countries i know can't open it =/

As for the VS thing, it was only a matter of time before they noticed how hard Monange was copying their stuff ... & now that VS is expanding all over the world (they have stores here in Vzla, Brasil is the next logical step in South America) it makes more sense for them to set differences between them & Monange i guess
