Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2017

Yes. It was Vanessa that they showed closing the whole show. I didn't think they would show Ming's fall. Gizele helping her was a nice moment, also Lily comforting her backstage.

The whole show was just kinda meh again for me.

Only this time with a new low I guess? Feeling like Ming's fall is so exploited.

Why do people clap when someone falls?
If I saw someone fall at the office I wouldn’t clap. If I did it would appear not only odd but humiliating if not cruel.

It’s strange how normally you pretend you didn’t see embarrassing things (eg quickly looking away) and sometimes even say as much (don’t worry no one saw). While here it is highlighted - she fell! Did you see? Let’s make it obvious we all saw!

All the key media articles about the show are:

1) a model fell
2) Gigi didn’t participate
3) Russian models and Katy couldn’t attend

After intentional exact word googling I learned alessandra was leaving.
After 15? Years and you aren’t the main media reference for the show. Disappointing.

Her send off was very weak. She would have got more attention and focus for being pregnant.

Perhaps it was an intentional gloss over.

I call it serious ignorance there. How come the media not covering Alessandra leaving VS and give the headlines to the falling model and Gigi and Katy not attending due to visa issues?

Usual fashion media business no doubt.

EDIT: I guess we can add Harry Styles in #4 on that list, perhaps?

Gizele did a livestream when she was watching the show and cried watching Ming at the viewing party.

You mean the other models like Gizele and Karlie clapping? What's wrong with that? They probably just meant it as a supporting gesture, not to humiliate her further.

So did Vanessa "close" the show?
Surprised that they aired Ming's fall but at the same time, I'm not.

I feel really bad for Ming, they could have just cut that out instead of leaving it.

This sounds about right, they just used that for the attention and ratings.

I guess my point was unclear
I don’t think they were humiliating her. I know it was intended as supportive
My point was it’s strange how if someone fell almost anywhere else NOT clapping would be the most appropriate and supportive response.

What else happened in the show?
No one was pregnant. No new famous boyfriends/partners.
No Gigi or Kendall. Even Bella wasn’t worth any media focus.
The only other thing was alessandra.

It seems the intended highlights of the show didn’t even attend.

Ming is the top trending topic about the VSFS - the first time Adriana hasn't been the top trending in a WHILE.

I honestly feel if Ming's fall wasn't on every news outlet that VS wouldn't put it in the show - but since people were expecting the fall and mainstream media already knew about it, they added it in (for extra V$F$ publicity)

Does anybody have a link to watch it online?

i can't believe the way they treat Alessandra last time. I mean there's no mention or celebration of her glorious days at VS..

This thing is BS! And let me guess the model search crap took the most airtime.

I cannot imagine whether people will label her all sorts of things at her for that fall after all the massive coverage. However, I hope that more people will support her despite all the bombshell.

I always thought that the televised VSFS will be a mess and boy all those things justified it...

If I were the editor though, I would add Alessandra's announcement footage after the finale walk with Adriana, then some statement from Ale herself (if possible) and flashbacks to her glorious VS days. That'd be a win-win celebration for everyone considering Alessandra has been a long timer in the brand and we shall need a hero's goodbye.

Why did they switch Nomadic Adventure with Goddesses? What was the issue?

I haven't seen the whole show yet.
But I'm not sure what to think about showing Ming's fall. I'd be so embarrassed. And the way it's been edited! You see Ming before going on the runway "It's my hometown, my parents are here!" and then she falls. It's like they did it purposely. Poor Ming. But the thing is that, as mentioned already, everybody knows about it. They've been talking about it everywhere. Maybe they wanted to show the fact that it can happen at a huge show like Victoria's Secret, too. And that there's nothing wrong or bad about falling. They clearly took advantage of it.

This footage been CLEARLY added after Ming's fall to me , to make it looks more emotionnal... they focus right right on her so we can not see the background etc.. this scene looks so fake to me and I'm not even blame Ming they just using her for $$$..

Maybe because the fantasy bra is in that segment or maybe because of Harry, that's why they switched the segments in the edit? Actually, they didn't even show any details of the model competition they did.

they didn't show the competition.
Those scenes are:
- Walk Like An Angel: basically angels look back at their journey at VS. The same old "i can't believe i'm an angel" stuffs. They should have made this segments all about Alessandra with a montages of her 17 shows and a goodbye from THEIR ICONIC ANGEL!
- Angels learn Kungfu
- a segment about the diversity of VSFS
- a segment about the music & fashion and musicians that appeared in the show.
