Nina Ricci S/S 10 Paris

this is not the nina ricci i like or want, it is more like a Louis Vuitton or Marc Jacob show.
i really miss Oliver.

I feel like this could easily be Monique Lhullier/Erin Featherston/Marchesa/any generic NYFW collection.

i love all the people here saying how much they miss olivier, maybe you guys should've actually bought some of the stuff designed by him if you loved it so much..

i don't know anyone who has ever bought nina ricci by olivier t.
I understand your sentiment, but personally speaking though I never thought Olivier was right for the house either. I liked Olivier's work at Rochas quite a bit, that Monet collection was amaaazing but I can't quite place what went wrong when he came to Nina Ricci. That collection with the short in the front, long in the back, shiny silk is-that-really-purple-with-orange jacket dress thing? That was when I lost faith in Olivier. I feel now that Nina Ricci is just one of those houses that cannot find what Alber Elbaz is to Lanvin, and I think perhaps they should give it a rest.

I personally think its a nice fresh start and a step in the right direction.

Oliver? Doesn't anyone regard him as Olivier anymore?

Haha, I know. Learn the man's name before you comment, please.

The collection is okay; kind of disappointing, and boring, but not horrible. Not the type of collection that you really need to look at multiple times, it's just nice. Nothing more, nothing less. It seems to be much more about styling though, which is something that is so Jacobs/Vuitton and not Ricci at all in my opinion.

It's okay but no one can surpass Olivier's greatness for Nina Ricci. It kinda reminds me of Givenchy though.

The collection looks too girly for me. So not really for me.

i must say that if that was shown in ny i would be saying 'egh, next'

i love all the people here saying how much they miss olivier, maybe you guys should've actually bought some of the stuff designed by him if you loved it so much.. oh wait so far it's mostly guys saying how much they miss him, typical

I did ... but the majority of what I saw for sale (and it wasn't much) was vastly overpriced.

I actually prefer Coppings vision of Nina Ricci than Oliver Theyskens. I think women will embrace this because it's just true beautiful clothes.

it s a nice collection, commercial, pretty to look at, easy to wear and more so to sell than theyskens' innovative, magical ideas.

as a business man i would definitely choose coppings over theyskens anytime, but as someone interested in fashion, i adore theyskens' disregard for profitability and dismay for canned ideas. theyskens' clothes esp the last collection definitely wont fit into just any girls' wardrobe, not only you need to have a certain figure, you also need to have the attitude to pull them off.

I think people are being too harsh on Copping. Sure Thyskens was awesome and sure he produced fantastically romantic pieces that are incomparable. But I think for Copping this is a good "transition collection"; a collection that has some factors from Thyskens and some new idea he's brought in from his own experiences in the industry i.e. Louis Vuitton.
I don't think it's an ugly collection. I probably wouldn't prefer it over Thyskens' work but whatever, it's still a good collection IMO.

I seen this all before and some of the pieces I like but I really don't see Nina Ricci at all!

its not terrible..i could learn to like this actually. Sadly it doesn't have that special touch of Theyskens but that's ok - this is no longer Theyskens for Nina Ricci, so I would expect change.. ^_^
