Nicolas Ghesquiere for Balenciaga / Louis Vuitton Spring Summer 2016

^Lazy, but his second version is a bit cleaner and therefore very slightly better.

I think Chloe has something to do with it, too. How in the world is that face a celebrity?

I appreciate what AMichele is doing for Gucci but ... I'm still reeling from seeing that fur belt buckle a few pages back.

I like self-references. It is always interesting to see how designers are reinterpreting their own work.
It's clear that Nicolas's work at Vuitton will be more about re-interpreting his own past rather than being about innovating all the time.

The bras reminded me of his last Balenciaga collection even if they are very similar to Alaia.

Pretty sure this hasn't been posted before.

You can tell McQueen was a huge fan of Rei Kawakubo clothes!

The sad thing is: I can make MUCH more exciting dresses using all the Post-It's at my job.

LOL! The dress was actually called the post-it dress...the collection featured post-it tops and coats

Oh now that's funny. As much as I like Chloe that was a worthy dig.

She's only one of a few of stars to me that has genuine style, so that makes her beauty more than just skin-deep.

The Comme-inspired Givenchy by McQueen design is inspiration at its purest. He took a design from a dress and interpreted its uniqueness into a sharply tailored suit. Amazing.

I don't think he was inspired by Comme on that one. That twist is quite a common idea for people who want to make their own clothes.

I won´t call it inspiration. I´d call it derivation.
In any case, McQueen enhanced the concept with his tailleur, from a raw concept to a sophisticated one.

Maybe yes, maybe no. McQueen was a fan of Comme des Garçons, so it is quite "suspicious" to find the same cut (the twist even has the same kind of loop).
And he even admitted that he copied from here and there, for his first Givenchy HC collection...

Isn't inspiration always derivation? You see something that insipres you, and you derive an idea from it.
