Personal must-haves for F/W 07.08

I think Augusta is another Cdiem offshoot....bet those boots are very nice!

soft, your color scheme sounds very like Marni from a few seasons ago, and I remember they did some very nice white pumps that year too (probably on yoox right now). There were shiny red accessories as well, I think.

{style.com}

well- i do have a lot of marni in my closet...
:innocent:

i think that the 'drab olive' that you guys are talking about is very close to the 'brown' that i am talking about actually...
:p

laika- i think i know which zara skirt you mean...
didn't work for me...nothing at zara seems to work for me these days...

but i found a couple good ones at h&m...:woot:
they are cotton and transitional though...
still need a wooly one for fall...
i actually want several...
i think that i might just buy skirts and pins this season...

i like this look from daryl k as well...
this is one place where i am getting the idea for off wht booties...
but i am pretty sure they just spray painted these wht for the show...
once again...narrow underpinnings and big oversized on top...

imagine the Y's swtr like this....

yeah- with global warming...it stays warm here forever...
except that it rains a LOT more...
which is always in the back of my mind now...
*oh man- what if it rains?...*
always have to have a back up idea just in case now...LOL...*
that's why cute little white booties could be a good idea imo...

^ agreed, the concept of oversize top and narrow bottom seems to be a theme that works season in and season out. to me though, it always looks better when its paired with a big roomy sweater, but I'm a fall girl and IMO one can never have enough big cozy sweaters. just today, I saw a look I really liked on Sarts website, it was dark on top, sprinkled with a slight bit of pattern, black tights and congac shoes. remarkable and sexy...I think that I might pair a ruby marni tunic I recently purchased with a dark umber skirt, black tights and some cognac platforms. it's a variation on color blocking but using the theme to accentuate the shoe.

oh, I like that, luckyme, and I love the Daryl K shots that softgrey posted.

Here is another one from sartorialist--I guess he is feeling the same vibe. This looks right off the DK catwalk. :p

^^woah ...that does look like daryl k alright...
but imo the wht booties make it so much cooler...

lucky- your outfit sounds cool...
though i can't say i love the black tights...it's a bit dischordant imo...
i think i would like a charcoal or chocolate a bit better-
to take some of the edge off...
it's a pretty strong look to start with, ya know?

and i def like an off white or light grey shoe best in terms of a contrasting shoe...
but that's not really a colour, is it?..
:p...

ah well...i am veering away from colour it seems...

i wanted a two tone bag...something grey...something shiny...
nothing trendy...something different and cool ...reasonably priced...
and with a longer strap to accomodate all the drop shoulder and wide slv coats and swtrs i have recently acquired...

so i think i found the answer to everything...

no no no! I want it to be summer forever :p With global warning though it doesnt start snowing until january.

The weather at my home is actually quite fall/winter like: lots of rain, clouds and wind. It usually starts snowing in November! I actually am wearing fall clothes right now most of the time.

s/s 08?...i wanted something for fall though...
to wear with dark grey or black and maybe navy...

the first shipment of augusta S/S 07 arrived here in December, if I remember rightly.
so you may get to wear them with those things.
but if you are thinking of them with the rain, they should not be so good since they are cordovan.

softgrey, had an idea for you while I was updating my inspiration board for fall last night ... did you see the pre-fall ballet Lanvin did with a torn silk gauze rosette ornament? I was thinking maybe you could make one yourself (for a brooch) in red, maybe satin or a bit of sparkle for shine. Another option would be (instead of the torn raw edge) to use pinking shears, you could get a pair of the fancy scrapbooking ones for different edging options ...

Future buys:

-Wrinkled Junya Watanabe jacket from S/S08, not set on colour, might be checkered, light grey or the usual black

-Another pair of slim black pants, probably by Carol Christian Poell, I might also feel wilder and get a pair of low-crotch Label Under Construction pants.

-An ornate silver ring. I should scour for antiques or maybe get an Ugo Cacciatori or Shaun Lean one.

-New plain white tees and v-necks (I've found an interesting source, I'll see in a few weeks).

That's pretty much it although since I don't really have holes in my wardrobe I might just pick any design that takes my breath away. I'm really feeling Lanvin sportscoats and tuxedos right now but I don't really need new ones and already got what I really liked from the label (my favourite item=the wrinkled tuxedo jackets).

List update: Got a pair of Carol Christian Poell black pants with x-stitch overlock (inside) in yellow thread, that takes care of the new pair of black pants.

i want like 50000 things from phillip lim

especially....

i need a new slicker anyways....

Well....everything from the Lanvin Fall collection.
And I'd be so happy if I could find some high waisted, white slacks...but no luck so far. I'm also SO in love with little penguin sweaters that Chanel displayed. Fall dressing is so hard for me, because it feels like such a somber time. I wear such neutral colors all throughout fall & winter. Blegh.

I also would like this green/yellow denim miniskirt i saw at UO, but it was only in size Large.:(

the must have for this fall is for me, this:

by gianvito rossi, about 420euros. I LOVE them.

that's nice

I also thought junya S/S 08 includes some lovely pieces.

softgrey, doesn't marsell have white shoes/boots?

thanks for thinking of me ta-ta...
:flower:...
i have some leather flower brooches which i think will do the trick if i cannot find anything else...(they are just a bit fragile and i am afraid of them getting damaged if i wear them too much)
i really would like something plastic or enamel if possible...
something 'hard'...
*ps- i saw the lanvin bracelet/cuff you mentioned...
pretty nice...a bit big for my tiny wrists...but def cool...^_^...

runner- thanks for all those pics..
makes me want to paint some boots!......
you might be right about marsell...
but that is another label that is not easily available in the US...
:ermm:...

^ Of course :flower:

I have an idea then ... what about a vintage red Bakelite brooch? Here's a Deco example from eBay ...

I would just love to have something in a gorgeous Deco print from Marc Jacobs, or Etro I think did them too ... but just not in the budget this season if I want to buy the shoes I've fallen in love with.

Looking at the September issues makes me feel I called it pretty well with 20s Deco and oxfords ;)

yeah ...exactly...
bakelite would be good- i should hit some vintage stores or the flea market i guess...

well- that's pretty much the Marc Jacobs show and it's pretty safe to say that what comes down his runway will be what women wear the following season...
sad as that may be...
:innocent:...

btw- i've nixed the idea of oxfords...
but i already have a pair of bettye muellers from ages ago-so i don't know if that counts...

i just feel like i am seeing the same thing in every single store and it's making me......
