Personal must-haves for F/W 07.08

where did you see that laika...?
it IS very short...tights or leggings are a MUST...

:innocent:...

At dernier cri, it's probably the best thing they bought.

It has a pretty wide waist, so I'm sure it's meant to be worn on the hips...still only comes to about mid-thigh though. The price is around $300, which seems kind of steep for a mini skirt...might consider it on sale though.

that's my dream skirt...:D

*i can't believe you found a place that has it...

Well, go get it then, darling! :flower:

Or, if you tell me your size (i am guessing IM 2?) I can keep an eye out for it at sale time. Everything there seems to go on sale (I think because the shop is so out of the way).

anyway, I drop by a lot since it is so close. :innocent:

edit: i should add, I'm not sure it's the identical one....but the fabric and style were very close.

edit2: you should really check in London first, of course. :p

i would normally take you up on your offer..

but i actually have it already- in navy...
:ninja:....

*a very lovely person knew that i was looking for it and helped me find it...
...

i LOVE it...it's so cute...
am so happy it is finally cooling off somewhat so i will be able to wear it soon!...
:D

:woot:

That's great! Can you post a picture please...I am curious as to whether it is the same one. Does the waistband have buttons?

snaps...

is it different...?
because if it's different i might need to get that one too!......

here's a pic...^_^

ah, ok....the one I saw is ever so slightly different...it had leather covered buttons on the waistband. The shape and length of the skirt is identical though, and so is the fabric (different color, of course).

I'll stop by on Thursday so I can give you a better description. ;)

softgrey - that skirt is really cute! it's sooo short!! I think the idea you posted in the DvN thread sounds so good, socks and tights with your Zara ankle booties. Laika nailed it, those Zara boots totally fit into the Isabel Marant vibe.

oh yes please...
i'm very curious now!...thanks laika!

there is one on sale on NAP
Is it what you are looking for?
nap.com

Not exactly, this is more of a coat (placket to hide hidden buttons, coat material, etc). Additionally, as previously noted I am a man and would make a pretty bad drag queen right now due to the stubble. Consequently I’ll opt out of wearing ladies clothing. :D

That skirt is mightily short, not that I object or anything…:innocent:

Yes, I got a bit disappointed, when I scrolled down to see the skirt without Soft in it! ...

Ok must have this season. I'm not much of a planner, I'm more impulsive ... I see things and then I buy! :innocent: ... But so far this is what i had in mind ...

I'm having an eye on this Ann Demeulemeester short double breasted washed wool jacket, but I''l have to wait for next month to buy it, i can't afford to splash out £435 on a jacket right now  ...

My first thought was, as also mentioned here, long fingerless gloves. I found out that I could get a pair of Dior Homme at luisaviaroma.com, But then I saw these Raf Simons Metallic ripped arm warmers ...

The other thing I really need for this winter is troussers, and Ann Demeulemeester has come to the rescue again. A pair of navy buckle back wool trousers ...

I think I'm gonna spend alot of time at Browns! :innocent:

And the last thing, Again Ann Demeulemeester, She's gonna save my winter  ... This Black top I found at Dovers Street Market(Source: gettyimages.com, sorry I couldn't find it else where! :ninja:) ...

I love the skirt in post #380.!

as far as must-haves, I'm still trying to get my hands on a black leather jacket..

oxfords
navy blue & dove grey trousers
a box pleated skirt + slouchy wool leggings..
2 pairs of acne jeans
oversize wool blend sweater
oversize crisp white button downs [that I can do woodblock prints on..]

and something tartan.. :p

multitudes....so nice to see you again ..
those ann dem trousers are gorgeous...even i want them...and i'm a girl :P

everything looks lovely...

Multitudes: if you like that type of short, military-inspired blazer I'd also look at Lanvin, they have some gorgeous offerings in a similar vein. Ann D pants look fine but if you're going to order online watch out for her sizing, x-small from recent seasons is too big for me and I'm a 29-30. I really like those Raf arm warmers, I have some cheap ones but I always loose gloves so nothing too fancy for me.

Adorefaith it's pleasure to see you again to ... and may I add you have great taste :p  ...

Fuuma thanks for the tips. I know what you're saying about Ann's sizing, so I will be down at Browns and try it on. I rarely buy clothes online, because for me it's also important, beside the fit, to actually get a feel of the fabric, before I purchase. I have never been to keen on Lanvin, but I might have to swallow my words and have a look :p
