getting my nose pierced tomorrow cant wait .. off work for a few weeks now so im getting it done then buying a clear retainer for work .. so should all be kosher hopefully they wont notice.
hope it doesnt hurt to much .. i have the lowest pain threshold ever

Tattoos And Piercings...

...or body modification in general.

What are your guys' opinions in relation to fashion? Can body modification and couture walk hand in hand? Or do you think that tattooos and piercings restrict your style?

Personally, I have two piercings in either earlobe. I've toyed with the idea of a nose piercing, but due to the punky connotations I'm unsure as to whether I go ahead. The same applies for tattoos.

I'd love to hear some opinions...

I realise specific threads are already available, I'm just interested to know peoples personal opinions on body modification, or how they encorporate their own body modifications into their everyday styles?

^Those associations are because maybe primarily pierced nose are "punky", but it is all in how you wear it. I have friends with nose piercings. To make generalizations, one is "urban/hip hop", one is "glamour goth", one "preppy".

All three has a tiny white stone piercing and what really one should consider is how it fits your face. It all suits their faces so it ended up fitting with each of their unique styles.

I'm over the piercing phases, but I use to have

-6 ear piercings (3 in each ear lobe)
-1 piercing in my left cartilage
-1 tongue piecing

I still have my ear lobes, but some have closed up a little. I only wear one pair of earrings now though.

my brother just got his tragus done, but vertically and it looks sooooooooo cool!! i want it done now

^ tragus piercing is pretty and the best thing about it is that it doesn't hurt at all

Does tragus really not hurt?

I'm fairly set on having my nose pierced (this week!), but mainly because I was under the impression that tragus would be really, really painful!

^i personally felt that my lip piercing was ten times more painful than tragus. i was prepared to feel awful pain but i was extremely surprised when i realized that there was no pain at all.
or.. of course there's small pinch but that's it basically

I've no idea how much a lip piercing would hurt (alot I should imagine?!), I think it can look beautiful on women (and absolutely lush on guys), but it just wouldnt fit with my look...anyone got any nose piercing experiences to help psyche me up?

^^^ ive got my nose pierced .. with a needle and i can honestly say it didnt hurt at all.. the worst bit was the clamp.. you can feel them putting in the stud which is an odd and not very plesent feeling but it didnt hurt. I just wear a small diamond in myn and most people dont even notice it for a while... i would like to wear a ring but my nose is so tiny it would look stupid.
Oh and a word of advice when they say keep it in for 6 weeks before you change it.. i changed myn after a week and had a bit of trouble.. it took me a while to get it all in.. but its all good now.. you probally wont need 6 weeks but maybe 3 at least

If one was to get their ear pierced on only one side, which side should they pick? I know it probably doesn't matter, but people have been telling me all these different "rules."
