im 17 as well and I don't have my ears peirced either... not because I don't want to, its just because my mom is against it. Countless times I thought of just coming home with my ears peirced but I only have less than 2 years when I can do whatever I want, so... If I could I would just go peirce my ears more than once grrr.

I was 12 when I had mine done...It did hurt..or should I say burn for 2-3 hours...I haven't heard anybody else I know complain that it hurt or stung tho' .

i had mine done when i was 4 and now i got like 4 peircings all together. claires is pretty good. and it doesnt hurt. i dunnoabout the risks involved though..

However, I beg to differ... it doesn't not hurt AT ALL... it does sting for a little while. I think it's that way for everybody.

any one you know had them done before ask them where you got them done!

aslong as the place looks clean and you see the piecer take the components out of their sterilised pakaging all should be fine and dandy!

i'd say go for it i'v had mine done seven times and am gonna get another one! although i would say if you wana get more done dont do it all at the same time because they'l probs be more prone to getting infected.wait till your first ones heal then get more!

ooooo and im gettin a tat when i turn 18 yay! anyone no if gettin one on your back is painful just like to be prepared!

I agree with Meg - I really do recommend you go to a licenced piercer. She's right - the guns can't be properly sanitized - they need to go through an autoclave and as the guns are plastic, they can't be sanitized. Each time they pierce your ear with the gun, the earring goes through so fast that microsopic amounts of blood spray out on the gun, hands, etc, which can't be properly cleaned and sanitized. I'd recommend going to a piercer - it may hurt more, but it's better to lower the risk of getting a disease or complications.

I had my first piercing done with a gun when I was in fourth grade with a gun - it didn't hurt, but I did get more infections with that piercing than I did with my second piercings, which I did just about a year or so ago that I got done at a professional parlor in Berkeley, CA. I haven't had an infection with those at all.

Part of it is post-piercing care, but the risk is still too high to get things done by gun.

The needle isn't so bad if you don't watch them put it in.

I haven't got my ears pierced and i'm 19. I'll also never get them pierced. The reason? I have very long earlobes and a square jaw....I tried some earrings on once and it just didnt' suit me. I'm happy being without earrings, and it means I have less money to spend on earrings!

I got mine done and it didnt hurt that bad and then i got three more holes in my ears and i did them myself..about the cartilage part, you shouldnt get that done w. a gun its really bad for that part of the ear and can mess it up..but thats just what i heard

had mine done when i was 11, didnt hurt, it just feels like you've been out in the cold afterwards, u get a kinda numb sore pain, but thats all jus a bit of a 'headache in ur ears'

i got my ears pierced with a gun ages ago, but when i got other piercing around my body a couple of years ago at this piercing place, they made a big fuss about guns and how you can't properly clean them. so i guess it's true.

i propaply should wear more earrings. usually it's neither really big and outrageous or none.. maybe some small with pearls or "girls best friends"

me mummy raised me that ladies only pierce their ears and at most 2 in each.
then again Im very 19th century in origin.

i have 9 piercings in my ears i dont wear them all at the same time though i do different combinations. i only have 6 in at the moment.

although i wouldnt get anymore in my ears. i do think getting pierced is addictive.

i recently decided with my friend (when drunk ) that we should go and get a nipple piercing. so we did on thursday.

i love my new piercing because only me and my boyfriend see it. its not out there and obvious. and really didnt hurt at all!

the great things about piercing is that you can take them out if you dont like them and only end up with a little scar compared to getting a tattoo.
