Prada F/W 07.08 : Sasha, Irina K, Anabela, & Nick by Steven Meisel

Sasha is clearly the star of these ads. As much as I like her, it's getting a bit redundant.

We get that Sasha embodies the Prada woman. She wears the the clothes everywhere. She calls her friends with her Prada cell phone. She walks to the Prada store in Soho with her Prada flats. She sprays on her Prada perfume anytime she leaves the house and she probably uses Prada toilet paper she goes to the bathroom. I really do adore her, but it's time the move on from her and let someone else shine.

I hope no one is taking this as a rant against Sasha, because as I said before, I really do like her. It's just that she has the potential to look great in so many other campaigns. (For example, I think that she would have looked excellent in this season's Louis Vuitton or Chanel)

That said, this is a beautiful campaign, the models look great and they're showing off the clothes nicely.

I like it, although Sasha honestly scares me. She looks like Norma Desmond from Sunset Boulevard!

Oh well, but Sasha is much more ready for the close-up

I feel kind of bad for Irina and Anabela in the handbags shot though, they might as well not be there at all

Agreed -- and no matter the casting, if the campaign has achieved that purpose than it is well-executed!

I love the expression on Anabela's face. I feel mostly bad for Irina because her position in the ad is near to nothing and a bit pointless.

I looove Anabela and Irina, but in these ads they are like props for Sasha. But then again, these aren't ads for models, they are ads for clothes, so I should stop complaining. I still like the ads, though.

i love the colours so much that they're using for both womenswear and menswear ..they have this really nice bright morning light

by the way, i think these are the first ads i've seen with Sasha looking very scary.. i think it's great, it's perfect to catch those walker-by's attention .. they usually paste huge posters of them at these waiting areas with seats for the bus here
i used to think actually why didn't they have Sasha looking scary in her other ads (the previous ones) cuz this is the way she usually looks on their runway show

for some reason, i dont find the menswear ads as appealing

I kind of hate these a bit.....

Compared to last season's beautifully colored, inhumanly airbrushed jeweltoned turbans this just bites (imo, of course)

It just does nothing but make me scrunch up my nose in distaste.
