Prada F/W 10.11 by Steven Meisel

I'm hoping Miranda doesn't show up.

I don't mind it, I think it's nice, it's reminds me of the older Prada campaigns. Not amazed by it, but then I haven't been by Prada's recent campaigns. Stylish at least.

Wow I love the film noir concept! So glad Clement and Mathias got this! This is the most beautiful Prada campaign in a few seasons.

I combined the photos from post 12 to see if it tells a different story. I assume that it was presented as combined in the paper based on the page numbers.

I love the idea of Angela turning up again in a Prada campaign, although I'm not entirely convinced by these shots, but things always looks different once you see them in print.

major disappointment
hate the lighting, the cast [well, except for sigrid],
in this particular shot the composition is awful

Ooh, a mysterious black girl in a Prada calpaign, how exciting!

I think I like this campaign...I'm convinced I'd completely love it if it weren't shot in bw.

First Prada campaign I might enjoy since.. F/W 04.:heart:
I love the slightly Casablanca mood of it all.. Miuccia works so well with that kind of alluring atmosphere, not just in campaigns but also in her clothes, it seems like familiar territory for her.. unlike the experimentalist conceptual tricks she keeps trying to pull out every couple of seasons, often with catchy results on the runway but so contrived once it gets translated to advertisement.. they tend to leave the sour impression that it was all pretense or just a rip-off.

wow, the merged version is absolutely beautiful  i dont see
how this is boring. it just screams classy and sophisticated all over

^I agree and we've only seen on merged picture so far, so it's a bit too early to say it's boring, at least in my opinion. Some color would have been so much better, even a nice low saturated color to give it a nostalgic feel..like S/S 2004. I really do think it's romantic and mysterious and sophisticated. I don't think it's necessarily about chemistry being between the models, but more about an overall mood. I think that with more images, we may see a story or theme of some sort; there's a lot going on in this one image alone.

This campaign is magnificent, love how there is so much happening and makes you ask yourself what each individual in this campaign are up to (especially the girl in the background, that's incredibly unique).

I also love how both mens and womens clothes are in harmony together in a picture perfect campaign.

oh wow

first Prada campaign in a while with actually CUTE guys!

will make a final verdict after seeing the whole set. don't you just love that out of 6 pages, 4 consist purely of model talk?

Ha! When it comes to Prada, I restrict myself to merely commenting on who appears in the adverts, or else you'd get a ten-thousand word essay that wouldn't exactly echo the worship generally displayed for the brand.

whenever i say something like that i get ready to receive an onslaught of hatemail

I'm finding this ad really offensive having the black model in the background like that, with no male counterpart as well. If you're not going to showcase black beauty rightfully in the forefront along side the others then don't use black models at all. This is not a step forward for black models as some make it seem but more so two steps back. Yes it's only fashion but the message its portraying is not pleasing.

Not to mention she's in her underwear! Whilst the white people at this creepy swingers' party are all fully clothed.

I like the campaign a lot. I like the shadowy night club look, and I prefer it in black and white. It gives the ad a film noir aesthetic that suits the collection.

I appreciate this campaign for its stylish classicism, but in terms of excitement, I feel nothing yet. I also cannot get past the awful hairstyles. I don't like it at all. It doesn't feel modern to me like past campaigns have.

Also, the aesthetic reminds me of Antonioni's La Notte, especially the scene when they are in the night club (I could only find this photo):

Well it's only one shot, but something tells me this could turn out to be a favorite campaign of mine this season. I love the cinematic quality this has. There's something vaguely reminiscent of those amazing Glen Luchford campaigns from the late 90s.

Oh i'm loving this! I'm in love with the concept they went for, very sensual yet there's this dark romanticism in it. I just love that they're in like a lounge/bar. That merged shot is beyond stunning. Desktop material right there! Sigrid fits perfectly well and I thought Angela would be so random, but she looks absolutely stunning here.

I was just looking up that film and I found something very similar.
