Prada S/S 11 Milan

Back in 2008 I went to the Prada store in Milan and got three accessories catalogues for free. I actually have never heard of a catalogue/lookbook you'd have to pay for, but you can always ask and there's no problem with it.

^ my previous post was deleted(?), so I wondered how much does that monkey blouse cost...if someone knows please post or PM me.

All right, after visiting Prada store this weekend I'm officially sold on this collection. Actually, I'm obsessed.

As much as I didn't enjoy it one the runway, seeing these piece in person takes them to totally a different level, they're so impressive in real life. Banana skirts and all the baroque monkey-blouses are fantastic, the embroideries on the white 20's dresses on Daphne and Kat are just impossibly rich and thick (they were displayed in the main window, I just kept staring at them for about fifteen minutes) and the fur stole is the most soft and delicious piece of fur I have ever touched, I couldn't take my hand off of it. I wanted to scream with delight for the gorgeousness of all this, it makes such a perfect sense right now.

Surprisingly, they didn't have the Fantasy Lookbook in the store I went to, in fact, they didn't have any catalogues nor brochures for womenswear at all. I only managed to grab a little catalogue with men's bags and try some Infusion de Vetiver on my way out, but I'm not complaining anyway ^_^

I think that'll be one of the most popular collections print-wise ever, if not the most popular one, actually.

Back in September I'd never think it would become so iconic.

is it completely surprising given how frequently this storyline pops up with reference to prada? that miu miu dress appeared on so many covers as well as did that ruffle prada dress some time ago.

it speaks more to the love affair ediatrices -- including the devil wears prada herself -- have with prada than it does necessarily to the collection.

^Well of course, I just have an impression the Prada obsession is particularly huge this season, and as I said, I didn't really see it coming right after the collection was shown.

You know as much as I digg this collection, i thought the whole minimalist baroque was a little overrated when it appeared in EVERY magazine, and in multiple issues ~ just sayin'.
